Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing and leading projects related to processes, technology, and the development of measurement methods in the field of metrology.
  • Designing, developing, and implementing testing solutions and equipment/test systems for optical components and systems.
  • Collaborating with project team members and subject matter experts to design and conduct experiments, supporting the development of fundamental process understanding across a wide range of technologies.
  • Staying updated with the latest metrological technologies and measurement techniques to ensure measurement capabilities align with technical roadmaps.
  • Working in international, multidisciplinary project teams and researching new trends in fiber and micro-optic technologies.
  • Delivering high levels of innovation, including filing patent applications, publishing scientific papers, and delivering presentations

Our requirements:

  • Master’s or Ph.D. degree in Physics, Optics, or Opto-mechanics (a background in optics/micro-optics is preferred)
  • Experience in laboratory techniques such as light coupling in optical fibers, aligning optical beams, and working with interferometers, profilometers, and confocal microscopes.
  • Hands-on experience with simulation software (e.g., ZEMAX or similar) and designing/characterizing optical and micro-optical components.
  • Familiarity with micromechanics (e.g. piezoelectric stages, hexapods, precision positioning systems).
  • Experience in providing solutions based on statistical analysis and structured problem-solving methods, as well as developing, implementing, and applying measurement technologies.
  • Strong data analysis, programming skills (Python, C#), analytical problem-solving abilities, and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, , and the ability to work in global teams.
  • Good command of both English and Polish.
