Senior Product Line Specialist

Role Purpose:

This position is responsible for coordinating and aligning cross-functional efforts to deliver and manage products for Corning’s high growth CPO business with a focus on execution in Strykow.  This role will also work to establish Strykow as a Center of Excellence for Corning CPO solutions internally as well as interface with customers on key deliverables.

Key Responsibilities:

• Leads cross-functional efforts to align Technology, Manufacturing, Product Line Management, Marketing, Sales, and the Customer
• Supports development of product strategies that reflect Corning’s CPO business strategy
• Helps establish Strykow as a Center of Excellence for Corning CPO solutions
• Collaborates and coordinates with Technology and Manufacturing to deliver new products faster than competitors
• May serve as commercial or project lead key initiatives
• Develops internal business cases to support investment timing, cross-product alignment, or solution-level customization

Experiences/Education - Required:

• Bachelor’s Degree – Engineering, Applied Science, or equivalent demonstrated experience
• Understand financial & operational levers of the product line, and considers them when making product-related decisions to strengthen the product line’s business case and optimize its returns to Corning
• Understands product’s position in the market(s) and uses this understanding to set the product line strategy
• Ease with frequent customer engagements at a technical level, comprehend technical needs and convey effective value propositions
• Ability to collaborate across functional boundaries to solve problems and develop solutions
• Ability to mobilize and influence people within and outside the organization to meet objectives
• Proven ability to self-manage and prioritize multiple tasks in an efficient, focused manner
• Fluency in English with excellent verbal/written communications skills, and clarity in presentations
• Garner trust and collaborative work efforts, both internally & externally, across multiple time zones

Experiences/Education - Desired:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Engineering (given highly technical nature of product line)
• At least 5 years of experience in product management and/or market development in a technical/OEM setting (experience in PnP a plus)
• Thorough knowledge and experience regarding Strykow manufacturing, SAP, Customer Care, Finance, and PLM systems
• Strong mentality for NPI Speed and fast execution
• Deep understanding of optics, glass as a material, and optical fiber properties
• Financial analysis and accounting experience
• Work experience in Manufacturing, Technology and/or Development
• Work experience in a Strategy group
• International perspective and business work experience
• Participation in, or leadership of, multicultural and/or multi-geographic project

Travel Requirements:

• Up to 25% including international
