Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and support metrology projects focused on high-precision geometry and dimensional measurements, including submicron characterization of precision components.
• Design, develop, and implement measurement methods, testing solutions, and metrology systems for complex, high-accuracy parts.
• Perform, analyze, and optimize measurements using advanced geometry metrology equipment, including CMMs, interferometers, profilometers, confocal microscopes, and optical measurement systems.
• Conduct Measurement System Analysis (MSA), including Gauge R&R, measurement uncertainty evaluation, and correlation studies to validate measurement processes.
• Analyze measurement data using statistical methods to ensure accuracy, repeatability, and reproducibility of measurement systems.
• Support troubleshooting activities and root cause analysis related to dimensional and geometrical quality issues.
• Stay up to date with developments in precision metrology technologies, standards, and best practices to align technical capabilities with business needs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, R&D engineers, and subject matter experts to define measurement strategies, execute experiments, and improve process understanding.
• Participate in international and multidisciplinary project teams, contributing technical expertise in geometry metrology.
• Drive innovation by proposing new measurement approaches, improving existing methods, and supporting technical documentation, publications, patents, or technical presentations where applicable.

Requirements:

• Master’s degree or PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Metrology, Precision Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Experience in precision geometry metrology, dimensional measurement, or measurement system development.
• Practical knowledge of advanced metrology systems such as CMMs, optical profilers, interferometers, confocal microscopes, or similar equipment.
• Strong understanding of geometrical tolerancing (GD&T), measurement uncertainty, and statistical analysis.
• Experience with measurement system analysis (MSA), including Gauge R&R, bias, stability, and capability studies.
• Strong analytical thinking and structured problem-solving skills.
• Experience with data analysis and reporting.
• Programming skills in Python, MATLAB, or C# are considered an advantage.
• High attention to detail, accuracy, and quality.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in global, cross-functional teams.
• Good command of English; knowledge of Polish is an asset or may be required depending on the role
