Contract manufacturing service at Supply Management Services Company (SMSC) provides strategic value to Global Supply Management (GSM) and Corning businesses. The service strives to deliver a complete and flexible outsourcing service to Corning businesses, covering make/buy analysis, contract manufacturer sourcing, contract manufacturer on-boarding, and operation management. Corning businesses could utilize the services to achieve their business objectives, minimize capital investment needed to alleviate capacity constraints, faster speed-to-market and improved customer responsiveness. In addition, the service helps to manage the contract manufacturer’s compliance to the required regulations. Reporting to Global Contract Manufacturing Service Lead, the incumbent is responsible for driving the service operation and delivering business objectives regarding Quality, Cost, Delivery, Services and growth while meeting all safety, health, and environmental requirements. As part of Global Contract Manufacturing Service management team, the incumbent will also be responsible for designing and deploying the global contract manufacturing service strategy, enhancing the service framework, system & tools. Besides, he/she should be ensuring the alignment with the GSM and SMSC business strategies.



• Execute global contract manufacturing service strategy by implementing and enhancing the sourcing, on-boarding and operation management services

• Assures Contribution Metrics are updated and linked with site/business cost reduction portfolio.

• Responsible for purchasing activities, including tactical operations support, with manufacturing, planning and commercial team

• Creates and maintains contractual documents (Supply Agreements, Pricing Agreements, Non-Disclosure Agreements, Certificates of Insurance, etc.)

• Owns/Assists with Supplier Relationship Management Process (including supplier audits)

• Participates in cross-functional teams focused on process improvements, cost reduction and supply chain issue resolution

• Establish and enhance global/regional service footprint and service capability

• Key leader for expanding the capability to provide external manufacturing support from supplier identification, development, management as required by the business.

• Optimize operational processes to improve effectiveness and efficiency of contract manufacturing operations

• Continue to develop and enhance supplier quality and compliance roadmap to support the contract manufacturing service deployment and meet the business needs

• Achieve year over year business revenue growth and cost reduction target

• Support Global Contract Manufacturing Service Leader to develop contract manufacturing project portfolio and deliver project goals and objectives

• Develop and implement operating plans that meet key performance objectives

• Conduct strategic reviews on existing and future potential manufacturing requirements is assigned region, including high-level assessment of opportunities to utilize external manufacturing or asset lean product production in Corning’s value chains

• Partner with Category Management and other SMSC services to ensure rigorous procurement processes are embedded within all contract manufacturing operations



I. Knowledge, Skills & Experience Required:

• B.S degree in technical or business discipline, ideally MBA

• Strong leadership, negotiation, and communication skills

• 10+ years’ experience in implementing and managing Contract Manufacturing operations, preferably in high-tech, electronics, consumer or highly engineered product environment; demonstrated experience with Supplier Relationship Management in these related fields

• Minimum 5 years of working experiences based in EMEA

• Strong business acumen and strategic agility for opportunity development

• Strong knowledge of manufacturing operations with demonstrated experience of demand planning, material management, production management and quality management

• Strong knowledge of supply chain operations with demonstrated experience of problem solving, decision making and project management skills

• Prior knowledge in performance excellence methodology and practice is a plus

• Good knowledge of contracting and purchasing terms and conditions • Demonstrated people management experiences and skills (Directly/Indirectly i.e. project management)

• Understanding of IATF requirements and Automotive industry is a plus

IV. Additional Information: The role will involve a fair amount of travel regionally and during start-up operations this could be significant. International travel might be required but would be minimum.
