Key Responsibilities
- Leads tracking of financial and or operational metrics and performances, summarizing findings.
- Assists with internal financial reporting, performs comprehensive trend analysis, and leads data mining.
- Monitors daily operations of a unit and actively assists to resolve issues, escalating as appropriate.
- Assists the controller in the development and maintenance of planning budgeting systems, preparation of financial and management reports, procedures, and presentation of findings.
- Analyzes and prepares financial and budgetary reports, contributing potential insights.
- Executes and supports internal and external controls.
- Performs complex, undefined ad hoc financial analyses and assigned requests from senior management leveraging a deep understanding of financial responsibilities within an assigned business unit.
Experiences/Education - Required
- Bachelor's degree (10 years) in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
- Prefer MBA and/or CPA.
- 5 years of relevant experience; preferable Manufacturing/Cost Accounting experience
- Controller experience (within or outside Corning) desired
- Proven knowledge of US GAAP
Experiences/Education - Desired
- Experience contributing to components of large projects.
- Experience working with colleagues from other business units and divisions.
- Experience coaching and providing technical supervision to junior team members.
- Experience creating and delivering presentations for business discussions/training and helping synthesize main findings.
- Demonstrated understanding of technical skills.
