Corning’s Display Technologies segment manufactures glass substrates for active matrix liquid crystal displays (“LCDs”) that are used primarily in LCD televisions, notebook computers and flat panel desktop monitors.

Purpose of the Position: Support the success of the business by marrying a deep knowledge of the business with knowledge of the value of data and transaction automation to produce value added solutions for the business. Provide long term strategy and directions in IT solutions to support manufacturing operation. Day to Day Responsibilities:  Work with Division/Business unit leadership to participate in the implementation of manufacturing strategies and goals.  Set IT IMS strategy for the business unit in line with business strategy and communicate/align the strategy with IT resources within the BU.  Collaborate closely with IT Service lines to translate the needs of the business to IT applications and services and implement programs that drive standardization across the division while ensuring business needs are met.  Prepare and manage IT budgets to support both business objectives and IT strategy.  Keep up with current technology and ensure that the business unit is aware of and/or utilizing the most effective technologies that give the business unit a competitive advantage.  Responsible for building a strong IMS IT organization by hiring the right talent and providing the appropriate training and coaching to people in technologies being utilized or anticipated being utilized in the Business Unit.  Drive commonality among operating lines (plants within the Business unit) to ensure consistency in appropriate IMS applications.  Minimize the risk to the manufacturing operation by ensuring 1) that necessary monitoring systems/processes are in place to ensure systems are operating consistently, continuously and effectively and that 2) appropriate disaster recovery plans are readied and in place. Influence division leadership to make necessary investments to support continuous operations and disaster recovery by presenting the business case and influencing division leadership.  Responsible for championing and “owning” division wise IMS projects, ensuring projects have a clear purpose, plan and clear outcomes.  Build and reinforce a positive work environment. Project involved with:  Global IT Projects/ tasks involvement in every phase include initial/requirement/design/Build/Test/Implementation  New expansion projects as well as projects related to maintain of business. Reporting Structure:  Immediate Supervisor: CDT IT Director Direct reports:  Division IMS Measurement & Inspection Lead  Division IMS Integration & Migration Lead  Division IMS Reporting & IMS Support Lead Education  Bachelor or above in IT relevant area Experience  Over 5 years’ experience in application development and maintenance  At least 3 years in supervisor or team leading role  Multi-national company, global team operation experience  Manufacturing system development/implementation/support Required Skills  Knowledge of IT infrastructure (network, server, storage…)  Knowledge of Manufacturing Execution Systems and manufacturing processes.  Be familiar with the following computer skills: - Visual Studio programming skill. (MCSD certification will be plus) - Relational Database: Database design, SQL statement, store procedure (Oracle, SQL Server) - Microsoft BI platform  Requirement understanding, business process analysis capability  Project management  Problem solving  IAP awareness is required  Fluent English in writing and speaking and presentation is required Desired Skills  ERP – PeopleSoft/SAP  Big Data  Cloud solutions Soft Skills  Team player with minimum supervision.  Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities.  Strong in communication with teams from different cultures.  Ability to influence decisions with critical thinking. Travel Requirements: (National/International; 0-100%) National/International: 20%  This role may require occasional travel to international sites such as China or Japan.  Travel between Taipei, Taichung and Tainan.
