Corning’s Display Technologies segment manufactures glass substrates for active matrix liquid crystal displays (“LCDs”) that are used primarily in LCD televisions, notebook computers and flat panel desktop monitors.

 

 

Purpose of the Position:

  • Ensures entity compliance with local regulations, GAAP accounting principles and Corning policies and procedures. Manage the closing process and ensures reporting is timely and accurate. Responsible for key financial and internal control processes such as SOX documentation updates.

 

Day to Day Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for managing the period closing process; including preparation and posting of journal entries, ensuring accuracy of the general ledger, entity compliance with local regulations, GAAP accounting principles and Corning policies and procedures, on a timely basis.
  • Supports compliance with internal and external controls, Sarbanes Oxley requirements, GAAP accounting principles, and Corning policies and procedures
  • Assists Entity Manager with the monthly financial closing and reporting, analysis of actual results, and preparation of short-termlong-term forecasting and annual budget.
  • Assisting in the preparation of annual income tax provisions and responsible for withholding tax related tasks.
  • Close cooperation with regional & global Treasury teams and provide Treasury related information
  • Participate in cross-functional (i.e. Tax, Treasury, ACR, CSS …) communication and projects

 

Education & Experience

  • BS in Finance/Accounting
  • At least 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in either a public accounting or multinational corporation setting; audit firm experiences preferred
