Role Purpose

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and improving the company's environmental and occupational health & safety systems, ensuring compliance with local regulations and company standards. The role also requires cross-site collaboration and occasional support for TN plant as needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Environmental Responsibilities (Approx. 60%)
      1. ISO-14001 System Management: Maintain and improve the ISO-14001 Environmental Management System, including planning, executing, and reporting internal audits.
      2. Regulatory Compliance: Monitor and analyze changes in environmental regulations, ensuring company policies and operations comply with the latest requirements.
      3. Pollution Control: Supervise the management and monitoring of wastewater, air emissions, and waste disposal to meet legal and company standards.
      4. Energy and Resource Management: Participate in energy-saving, carbon reduction, and resource recycling initiatives to enhance environmental sustainability.
      5. Audits and Improvements: Lead environmental audits, identify risks, propose corrective actions, and follow up on implementation.
      6. External Communication: Act as the key liaison for government agencies and third-party environmental organizations, handling submissions and inspections.
  • Occupational Health & Safety Responsibilities (Approx. 40%)
    1. ISO-45001 System Management: Maintain and improve the ISO-45001 Occupational Health and Safety Management System, supporting internal and external audits.
    2. Risk Assessment: Identify workplace hazards and conduct risk assessments, developing and implementing control measures.
    3. Contractor Safety Management: Review contractor safety documentation, monitor their on-site operations, and ensure compliance with company safety regulations.
    4. Incident Prevention and Investigation: Develop accident prevention and emergency response plans, and lead incident investigations and corrective action follow-ups.
    5. Safety Training: Conduct occupational health and safety training for employees and contractors to enhance safety awareness and skills.
    6. Safety Inspections: Perform regular workplace safety inspections, identify potential hazards, and propose and track improvement measures.
    7. Safety Committee Participation: Attend internal safety committee meetings and collaborate with other departments to resolve safety-related issues.
  • Cross-Site Support:
    • Provide EHS support to other facilities within the Taiwan region as needed, offering technical advice and assistance in system implementation and problem-solving
  • Other Responsibilities:
    • Regularly prepare and submit EHS-related reports, including internal management reports and external regulatory filings (e.g., emissions reporting, environmental tax declarations).
    • Assist management in driving company-wide EHS policies and handle ad-hoc tasks as assigned

Experiences/Education - Required

  1. Education: A degree in Environmental Engineering or related fields is preferred. Candidates without a degree in relevant fields must be willing to participate in company-provided training programs and obtain relevant certifications.
  2. Certifications:
      • Possession of occupational safety and health certifications (Lv. A or B) is a plus.
      • Candidates without certifications must be willing to take the required exams and obtain the necessary certifications (support will be provided by the company).
  3. Language Skills: Basic proficiency in English (TOEIC score of 500 or above or equivalent).
  4. Additional Skills and Experience:
      • Familiarity with ISO-14001 and ISO-45001 systems, including operation and auditing experience, is a plus.
      • Knowledge of environmental regulations and occupational safety standards, with the ability to track and apply legal updates.
      • Experience in contractor safety management is preferred.
      • Strong communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.
      • Ability to collaborate across sites and provide support to other facilities within the Taiwan region when needed.
