Scope of Position:

  • Support the deployment and execution of Global Supply Management (GSM) Strategic Sourcing strategies, policies, tactics and objectives for assigned complex global commodities that align and are linked with the business units, commercial, supply chain and manufacturing strategies.
  • Job to be focused on support of assigned suppliers or categories for Display Technologies purchases.
  • Project oriented- Assist project managers and leaders to obtain the installation related tool, parts and the service with acceptable quality level and price in timing manner.
  • Assist in the management of the Cost reduction Portfolio management.

 

Day to Day Responsibilities:

  • Assists the deployment of Strategic Sourcing plans and objectives in support of rebuild installation, relevant parts and service.
  •  Works with the Strategic Sourcing Managers and buyers to assist with global commodities to prepare and solicit competitive bids, quotations, and proposals with pertinent specifications, terms & conditions, supplier discovery and supplier qualifications which align with Global Buying Policy.
  •  Works with Global Team (US and TW) to capture Opportunities using Capricorn processes.
  • Develops or assists the review of specifications, statements of work, performance terms, insurance requirement and other compliance related documentation. Also need to manage change order.
  •  Collects, analyzes and leverages all aspects of supplier data and GSM history, optimizing strategic sourcing and achieving significant cost savings, improved quality and or greater value add.
  •  Understands and manages the flow of material and information between tiered suppliers to Corning to optimize materials or services at the lowest possible cost.
  •  Can anticipate future consequences and trends accurately to create competitive and breakthrough strategies and plans with good alignment with project leaders and GSM managers.
  •  Develop, maintain and execute Objectives that align to the project leaders as well as GSM Managers and any Service Level Agreements.
  •  Demonstrates initiative and a sense of urgency for achieving results, adjusts plans to ensure internal customer needs are met.
  •  Develops and cultivates effective relationships with suppliers, peers, and internal customers..
  •  Manages cross-functional boundaries, acts as a link across groups and can settle down the dispute with minimum noise.
  •  Supports all Ariba contract related requests and other Ariba tools; And ensures all contracts are appropriately have the required data elements for input into Ariba.
  •  Supports the development and communication of global supply intelligence for assigned commodities.
  •  Supports the Supplier Relationship Management process and conduct supplier IAP audits when needed.
  •  Subject matter expert for procurement process, conduct training (PR/CON), share SOP and update training materials for internal users.
  •  Take on assigned GSM sourcing projects.
  •  Time tracking using Etads.
  •  Alignment and support of GSM Global Objectives.
  •  Alignment and support Business Shared Objectives.
  •  Lead & develop analytical processes where possible to measure and report performance.
  •  Learning and helping team deploy Capricorn and other business critical programs.
  •  Provide analytical support to buyers and business operations.

 

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree (Finance, Supply Chain, Business Admin, Engineering)

 

Experience:

  • 2 to 3 Manufacturing a plus, Engineering a plus

 

Required Skills:

  • Experience with global supply chains with a keen understanding of how a customer need goes through the End to End supply chain.
  • Capable of analyzing complex problems and identifying key actionable recommendations

  • Basic financial management understanding and can calculate basic financial computations

  • Advanced computer skills, including Excel, PowerPoint, macros and other analytic tools with specific skill set in managing and manipulating data.
