Purpose of the position:

The Supply Chain Global Tactical Planning Manager position is designed to support an emerging display business’ needs for global tactical planning, resource rationalization and order promising to ensure reliable supply at lowest total cost.

 

Day to Day Responsibilities:

• Plan and execute master production schedule for global capacity and production allocation in Corning owned property and joint ventures • Accountable for rolling 13 weeks supply plan in daily bucket along with regional supply planning group (2weeks schedule planning, SP).

• Provide and secure demand order promise to commercial groups in defined timeframe

• Closely working with commercial (Demand) and manufacturing/ engineering/regional planning/logistics (Supply) to identify options to bridge demand/supply unmet.

• Work with regional DC planners to maintain customer pipeline inventory and safety stock targets

• Analyze demand/capacity inventory to make capacity recommendations to leadership team and highlight any shortcomings

• Align and execute to 18-month capacity plan for current and new products

• Accountable for quarterly business review (QBR) process – Manufacturing output forecast, tracking and identify opportunity for meeting forecast

• Develops and maintains planning tools and parameters to create accurate capacity models

• Support Trade compliance & import/export exception handling

• Support emerging business opportunity when using CDT assets

• Capacity planning, including production, resource and inventory plans.

• Synergy across plants/sites/divisions

• Order promise responses to customer service

 

Criteria for Performance Evaluation:

• Inventory metrics

• Customer service metrics (i.e. ship to request) in partnership with commercial

• Total cost of supply chain

 

Education & Experience:

• Education: Bachelor degree and above. Major in supply chain, industrial engineering, finance, engineering are preferred

• Experience: 8+ years in supply chain, global capacity planning, manufacturing operation, supply networking planning preferred.

 

Required Skills:

• Excel in global capacity planning for multiple production sites and multi-national customers.

• Trade compliance & import/export knowledge

• Capability of analyzing and interpreting complex information and data set

• Supply network design and pipeline management

• Good English speaking and writing capability; TOEIC score 650 or above is a plus.

• Experience working across cultures with a virtual team

 

Desired Skills:

• Process oriented

• Import/export trading experience

• Experience to work with sales planning, engineering and manufacturing

• Forwarder and vendor management (e.g., 3PL, 4PL …)

• Procurement and material requirement planning experience

 

Soft Skills:

• Comfortable to deal with ambiguity and uncertainty

• Excellent interpersonal effectiveness and communication skills (written and verbal)

• Ability to work under high time pressure
