Purpose of the position: This exciting position is to work for a startup division (Automotive Glass Solutions) within Corning Inc. (a Fortune 500 company in US) and is based in the Taipei Office (PGTH). SI&D Senior Analyst will be a critical member of our Strategy & Analysis Team and report to the Strategic Insights & Analysis Manager, who is based in Shanghai, China. Foremost, this position will work closely with their manager to capture Competitive Intelligence (CI) and Market Intelligence (MI) data, build and maintain backend databases, and establish value-added analytics for the global automotive market of technical glass components (interiors and exteriors parts). In addition, this position will have the opportunity to lead high visibility projects and fulfill ad-hoc requests regarding CI/MI work in data management, automation, analytics, and reporting. This position is in a startup division, so the work will be fast paced, demanding, and will require excellent communication, organizational, and technical skills. Trust to work autonomously in the Taipei Office is a must. In turn, there will be many growth and rewarding opportunities within AGS and the Corning Inc. organization.


Day to Day Responsibilities::

Key Responsibilities (Strategy):

  • Regularly monitors the industry to identify new customers or detects early signs of strategic changes with competitors’ capabilities within the technical glass supply chain
  • Analyzes CI/MI data to generate timely, accurate, and relevant intelligence and propose strategic, financial, or operational changes through actionable insights
  • Develops and delivers coherent and compelling CI/MI reports and presentations for use in internal planning sessions or ad-hoc request
  • Participates in sharing vital information with Commercial Teams within AGS as well as coordinates with CI/MI functions in other Corning divisions to share best practices and align on relevant outlooks and assumptions
  • Support CI on better understanding global supply chain and manufacturing landscape of customers/competitors, including information for tech innovation, capabilities, and strategic partnerships 
  • Monitor and collect client information, including supply chain partnerships, new plants/products, market prices, strategic plan, etc.
  • Support on tracking product market share by various segments and competitors’ growth
  • Occasional travel possible (less than 10%)

Key Responsibilities (Analysis):

  • Proactively collects CI/MI data from multiple sources (including new) to build a comprehensive and well-maintained database for analytics, reporting, and forecasting
  • Develops processes to gather data and assumptions from the AGS organization to complete information where there are gaps in market forecasting and CI/MI analytics
  • Assist Strategy & Analysis Director on improving AGS’s global market forecast model
  • Thinking creatively to address business challenges and support strategic decision-making by using new and established methodologies in descriptive, predictive, perspective analytics
  • Find innovative automation solutions for data management, analytics, and reporting to mitigate resource constraints within the Strategy & Analysis Team and AGS




  • Ability to work independently and as part of highly collaborative teams
  • Must be inquisitive and open to challenging traditional processes and thinking
  • Self-driven for continual learning and ongoing training/development
  • Familiar with database creation, maintenance, and data governance
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Analytics, CI, MI, Commercial, and/or Insights role
  • Successful track record of completing complex analytics, data automation, and/or database projects
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, mathematics, economics, statistics, engineering, computer science, or equivalent


  • Experience working with mid to senior level leadership
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in automotive, technical glass, and/or panel industry
  • Experience using Power BI/Tableau, MS Excel, MS Access, SQL, Python, and/or Alteryx
