Scope of Position:

Responsible for overseeing warehouse inventory accuracy and coordinating inventory transactions needed for daily operations. Maintains accurate inventory controls through adherence to company guidelines and policies while providing outstanding customer service. Provides systems expertise and support to ensure inventory accuracy using PeopleSoft Inventory, Manhattan SCALE WMS System and other inventory tools.  Works cross functionally to resolve inventory issues. Responsible for effective inventory management. Implements process improvements and trains others on inventory systems and tools.

Day to Day Responsibilities:

• Manage Cycle Count Process per scheduled cycle including financial approval and systems adjustment and reconciliation when appropriate. 
• Ensure timely completion and reconciliation of cycle counts by WH personnel.
• Conduct root cause analysis and corrective action on inventory discrepancies/variances (i.e. Cycle Count).
• Compile and report Inventory Metrics including Cycle Count Accuracy (physical & financial), adjustment metrics and reasons, inventory improvement projects, etc.
• Generates reports for inventory analysis and troubleshooting.
• Process inventory transactions for inventory movement between business units, expired material, damaged product, non-BOM inventory consumption, reverse MSR’s, UOM corrections
• Manages the expired products process to include pulling product, scheduling discard truck, and processing transactions in the ERP system.
• Responsible for offsite inventory accuracy and reconciliation transactions, if applicable.
• Works with Purchasing and the Functional Shared Services Organization to resolve purchase order or invoice problems relating to inventory items ordered by the warehouse.
• Responsible to ensure all existing and new hire Warehouse personnel are trained and knowledgeable of SCALE WMS system, processes and transactions. 
• Support Warehouse during auditing of data / processes.
• Conduct / lead root cause analysis for Warehouse/Inventory issues/problems/errors.
• Identify continuous Process improvements in inventory management/warehouse processes.
• WH SME – Maintain SME knowledge, purpose and communicate training opportunities, take the lead of understanding and apply LEAN concepts throughout the Warehouse environment.
• Process Excellence Green Belt – lead / coach DESGN, DMAIC and other Process Excellence project for CLS Warehouse
• Maintains good housekeeping conditions in working areas and observes local and global Corning specific safety regulations and practices in daily work.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Inventory Control / Customer Service Manager.

Travel Requirements:

• Very little travel is expected (mostly training related within the first 6 months)

Hours of work/work schedule/flex-time:

• Standard business hours, Monday – Friday
• Overtime paid as needed.

Required Education:

• Required Education: Bachelor's degree in business or technical discipline with a minimum of 2 years’ experience or Associates with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in supply chain, inventory control or material planning.

Required Years and Area of Experience:

• Minimum 2+ years’ supply chain, logistics or material planning depending on education level.   

Skills / Experience:

• Significant attention to detail, coordination and communication with many functions within Corning and companies outside Corning.
• Understands and applies warehouse and inventory control fundamentals in accordance with company policy
• Demonstrated ability to drive results in a team environment
• Professional written and verbal communication skills
• Working knowledge of MS Office applications
• Excellent organizational skills

Desired Experience / Qualifications / Skills:

• Working knowledge of People Soft or Manhattan SCALE WMS system. 
• Advanced MS Excel skills
• APICS certification
