Scope of Position:

The Business Intelligence Analyst will be responsible for the definition, development, reporting and communication of data insights and key metrics to better serve our customers, both internal and external. You will be joining an exciting, newly formed analytics center of excellence for the Corning Life Science division. Our mission is to add value to the business by utilizing our expertise in data analysis, data engineering, statistics, and machine learning to identify and address the biggest opportunities to grow our $1B+ business. This position is located in our Tewksbury, MA office with hybrid on-site/remote schedule available.

 

THIS IS A FULL TIME ROLE, NO CONTRACT WORK AND ONSITE 3 DAYS/REMOTE 2 DAYS

 

Day to Day Responsibilities:

  • Drive the design, development, and maintenance of metrics, reports, and analyses to drive critical business decisions

  • Propose and implement new metrics, analysis techniques, and strategies to improve business performance and better serve our customers

  • Define the data elements and data structure required to enable reporting

  • Contribute to operational best practices for business reporting to allow the team to scale

  • Prepare and deliver analyses and insight reviews to senior leadership

  • Work with IT, the data warehouse, external data partners, and self-developed databases to enable the appropriate capture, storage, data visualization and analysis of key data elements

  • Enable effective decision making by identifying, retrieving, and aggregating data from multiple sources and compiling it into a digestible and actionable structure and format


Required Education and Years of Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, Engineering, Operations Research, Math, Finance, or related discipline

  • 5+ years’ experience in data, analytics, and/or business intelligence

  • 3+ years’ experience with SQL or other similar relational database query language


Required Skills:

  • Experience with data visualization and tools such as PowerBI, Tableau, or similar

  • Demonstrated understanding of data warehousing and data modeling concepts

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively cross-functionally with IT, data subject matter experts, Data Engineers, and other Analysts to mine the right data sources efficiently and accurately

  • Demonstrated independent and creative problem solving

  • Experience displaying complex quantitative data in a simple, intuitive format and presenting findings clearly and concisely

  • Experience working directly with business stakeholders to translate between data and business needs

  • Excellent organizational skills including prioritization of multiple concurrent projects while still delivering timely and accurate results


Desired Experience / Qualifications / Skills:

  • Master's degree in Business Administration, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or another quantitative field

  • Experience with scripting languages such as Python, R, etc.

  • Experience with data generated by SAP and/or working with SAP products

  • Ability to pay close attention to detail in a fast-paced environment

  • Ability to break down complex problems into smaller deliverables that add value

The range for this position is $96,412.00 - $132,567.00.  Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
