Scope of Position:  The Business Analyst will be responsible for collaborating with business translators, understanding business requirements, and supplying the data and analyses to support the solution.  You will be joining an exciting, analytics center of excellence for the Corning Life Science division.  Our mission is to add value to the business by utilizing our expertise in data analysis, data engineering, statistics, and machine learning to identify and address the biggest opportunities to grow our $1B+ business.  This position is in our Tewksbury, MA office with hybrid on-site/remote schedule available.

 

Required Education and Years of Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, Engineering, Operations Research, Math, Finance, or related discipline
  • 3+ years’ experience in data, analytics, and/or business intelligence
  • 1+ years’ experience with SQL or other similar relational database query language

 

Required Skills:

  • Demonstrated understanding of the linkage between business data and business information and how to translate between the two
  • Experience displaying complex quantitative data in a simple, intuitive format and presenting findings clearly and concisely
  • Experience with data visualization and tools such as PowerBI, Tableau, or similar
  • Demonstrated understanding of database concepts
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively cross-functionally with IT, data subject matter experts, Data Engineers, and other Analysts to mine the right data sources efficiently and accurately
  • Demonstrated independent and creative problem solving
  • Excellent organizational skills including prioritization of multiple concurrent projects while still delivering timely and accurate results

 

Day to Day Responsibilities:

  • Enable effective decision making by identifying, retrieving, and aggregating data from either the division’s data lake or PowerBI reports to compile it into a digestible, standardized and actionable structure and format
  • Prepare and deliver analyses and insight reviews to business stakeholders
  • Propose metrics and/or analyses that should be productionized for broader use across the organization

 

Desired Experience / Qualifications / Skills:

  • Experience with scripting languages such as Python, R, etc.
  • Ability to pay close attention to detail in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to break down complex problems into smaller deliverables that add value

The range for this position is $77,695.00 - $106,831.00.  Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
