Scope of Position:
Reporting to the Business Manager, Serum, the Assistant Product Line Manager, Serum has global commercial responsibility for Corning’s Serum product portfolio. The position requires interaction with individuals in all areas of Corning including Sales, Technical Support, Order Management, Forecasting, Inventory Control, Manufacturing, Supply Chain Management, Quality, Regulatory Affairs and R&D to assure that customers’ needs are met. The successful candidate will understand the sales process from initial customer contact through successful use of Corning products in the different workflows in the Pharmaceutical, Academia and Research segments that require Media & Serum product in cell culture applications. The Business Support Specialist in collaboration with the Business Manager will be the champion of new product development working with customers, technical service, the sales team, R&D and applications development to identify new applications and product solutions to commercialize new product opportunities.
Day to Day Responsibilities:
- Support serum reserves process - work with factory to monitor and maintain to ensure that the business has material to fulfill customer orders while monitoring inventory levels.
- Match available inventory to customer specifications based on product attributes.
- Maintain effective communications with global sales and marketing groups to support customer requests
- Meet regularly with key departments to support the business and ensure alignment - Finance, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Forecasting Departments
- Manage tracking of product line performance according to key metrics
- Work closely with Down Stream Marketing to develop marketing content and collateral
- Support forecasting and demand planning process
- Monitor inventory to ensure products do not go out-of-stock
- Maintain & track top opportunities weekly for commercial review & updates
- Alignment with manufacturing on demand schedule to support customer and market needs.
- Assist in the development of sales enablement tools and training programs for the CLS sales organization and channel partners
- Review and approve product pricing for opportunities and RFQ’s based on the unique requirements of each opportunity
- Work with the data team to optimize data analytics, KPI’s and dashboards to support business objectives.
- Work closely with Finance to support and manage product cost controls, updates and changes
- Work closely with the product pricing team to support the annual pricing activities
- Manage part number development process for custom made to order requirements
- Participate in voice of customer feedback regarding product changes/upgrades and new products
- Support key dealers to develop marketing programs and gain support on growing sales
- Maintain knowledge of competitive products, market perception, and market direction
- Support market and competitive analysis
Travel Requirements: 10%
Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree Required - Master in Life Science desired.
- 2 years or more with hands on cell culture/cell biology experience desired and Life Sciences Sales / Marketing Experience required.

The range for this position is $63,000.00 - $86,625.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
