The Contract Manufacturing Projects Controller role is a regional financial leader for the manufacturing organization within Corning Life Sciences supporting contract manufacturing and selected manufacturing locations.  This individual will partner with the Global Manufacturing Controller, Regional Manufacturing Manager, and other division leaders to deliver key financial, strategic, and business objectives.  He/she will ensure compliance with local regulations, Sarbanes-Oxley requirements, Corning policies and procedures and US GAAP.  He/she will have responsibility for ensuring that we have the optimal team in place to deliver financial expertise and appropriate decision-making support.  This individual must be a strong business partner to drive appropriate decision making across all areas of manufacturing cost and strategy.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Implements and ensures business adherence to internal finance controls including data and reporting standards and compliance procedures (e.g., Sarbanes Oxley regulations, internal and external audits).
  • Designs Finance programs, processes, and procedures (e.g. closing, forecasting, budgeting, reporting, inventory tracking) that enable improved cycle time and better decision making in support of the achievement of corporate, function and business goals and objectives.
  • In conjunction with division leadership, develop monthly forecasts and annual plans.  Monitor monthly results in comparison to forecast and plan and advise on course corrections as necessary.
  • Supervises the closing process to ensure timeliness, accuracy, and consistency of reporting with US GAAP, statutory, and tax accounting requirements.
  • Provides finance expertise and decision support to business leaders in support of the regional/site strategies, goals, and objectives
  • Partnering with manufacturing and Division leaders, identifies and assesses the financial implications (e.g., ROPA, ROIC, IRR, etc.) of investments and other actions within the business. Recommends appropriate actions to maximize financial performance.
  • Monitors and identifies budget and forecast variances for the locations and provides business leadership with insights and perspectives on appropriate actions required to address variances.


Reporting Structure:

  • This role reports directly to Global Manufacturing Controller.


Education & Experience:


  • Bachelor of Science or equivalent technical degree
  • Proven knowledge of US GAAP
  • 10+ years total experience; 3+ years in a manufacturing environment
  • Plant Controller experience (within or outside of Corning)
  • Experience leading a team in meeting continuous improvement goals
  • Experience in managing a cohesive staff with collaboration across functional areas



  • CPA
  • MBA
  • Legal Entity Finance Manager experience
  • Experience managing multiple plants and/or regions

This role does not provide immigration support



The range for this position is $124,363 to $175,000. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
