Scope of Position:

This is an excellent opportunity for you grow and develop in one of Corning Incorporated's key engineering organizations supporting deployment of new, innovative and challenging technologies in the Corning Life Sciences division.

As a member of the Division Engineering team, you will be responsible for the detailed design of Corning Life Science products. You will provide the CAD modeling and design of new products. You will also support design engineers in the design, development and prototyping.

Day to Day Responsibilities:

  • Generating product designs and detailed drawings of injection molded components and assemblies, checking drawings for accuracy.
  • Work in collaboration with engineers, scientist and manufacturing to generate new product designs.
  • Providing CAD support for drawing change control.

  • On time project completion
  • Problem resolution effectiveness
  • Product design completion

Travel Requirements:

  • No travel needed.

Hours of work/work schedule/flex-time:

  • Standard Monday – Friday business hours.

Required Education:

  • 2-year Technical degree in CAD, Mechanical Technology, or equivalent education.

Required Years and Area of Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience product design including plastic component design.

Required Skills:

  • Strong Mechanical Design capabilities.
  • Proficient with Solidworks 3D & 2D CAD.
  • Considerable experience designing parts for injection molding, GD&T, design of assemblies and change-management procedures.
  • In depth 3D CAD design capabilities.
  • We need solid MS Excel and MS Word experience.

Desired Experience / Qualifications / Skills:

  • Experience with Solidworks.
  • Experience with Solidworks PDM vault.
