Role Summary: This position acts as the single point of contact as HR for Tewksbury location (~200 employees) which hosts leadership and key positions along with a variety of functions across Commercial & Business Operations as well as Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Strategy and all other support functions. Provides human resources leadership for assigned clients group within Tewksbury and NA starting with but not limited to Customer Experience, Sales Operations teams and workforce. Initiates and leads project work for own client group and global Commercial & Business Operations in support of HRM, Commercial & Business Operations.


Role Purpose:

  • Ensures own client group has the right number and type of talent required to execute their strategy and achieve desired business results
  • Ensures own client group realizes required levels of employee productivity and performance excellence required to execute their strategy and achieve desired business results
  • Ensures Tewksbury location and own client groups establishes and maintains a positive work environment and operates as “One Corning” in support of Corning’s Values
  • Assists in achieving or beating budgetary objectives in support of top quartile performance objectives while maintaining appropriate level of HR service delivery
  • Scales the type and level of HR service provided to client groups in anticipation of the specific needs of the division’s business portfolio and in conjunction with the business strategy
  • Ensures the successful implementation of global HR business processes within the client group
  • Initiates and leads project work in HR area to improve service levels and customer satisfaction to achieve desired business & HR function targets as well as takes active part as project member representing HR in commercial and business operations projects

    Key Responsibilities:
  • Identifies and prioritizes current and future talent requirements of the client which could affect achievement of client group operational objectives
  • Partners with Commercial & Business Operations HRM and wider HR team and client business team to identify and implement a compelling employee value proposition that enables them to attract and retain the number and type of talent required to close talent gaps with focus on Tewksbury openings and needs
  • Partners with Commercial & Business Operations HRM to take actions required to address talent gaps, ensuring the client group has the right people in the right place at the right time
  • Partners with client group to identify and implement targeted client group and individual development plans that address targeted talent gaps in a timely manner
  • Effectively deploys performance management and rewards processes/practices within client group to drive required levels of employee accountability for desired performance results and ensure retention of top performers
  • Holds client managers and leaders accountable for establishing and maintaining a positive work environment
  • Coaches client management in development and implementation of required programs and processes to establish and maintain a positive work environment
  • Manages and mitigates employee grievances by ensuring supervisors and leadership are creating an open forum for discussion and resolution in Tewksbury office as well as remote workforce management
  • Takes active part and/or leadership roles in multiple teams linked to Tewksbury with focus of aligning their initiatives to “great place to work” concepts o teams include but not limited to : Tewksbury leadership team, H&S committee, 24/7, activities committee, CPWN, other affinity groups
  • Effectively deploys HR shared service delivery model in support of HR transformational goals and required levels of client support
  • Ensures compliance with HR-related legal and regulatory guidelines for Tewksbury with focus on but not limited to EEO, affirmative action, other regulatory requirements

    Required Background/Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources, Industrial & Labor Relations
  • 5-8 years HR experience or equivalent; ideally across a variety of environments (Manufacturing/Commercial/COEs)
  • Successful track record in deployment of HR business processes and/or programs
  • Successful track record of project management & change management
  • Ability to travel (domestic / international) between 10 - 15%

    Preferred Background/Experience:
  • Master’s degree in Business, Human Resources, Industrial & Labor Relations or related area and/or HR certifications
  • Solid business acumen; able to engage business clients and develop tailored and creative solutions that factor in financial implications of decisions
  • Experience working with sales compensation structures and incentive programs
  • Life Science industry knowledge and Greenbelt certification, a plus
  • Experience with M&A integrations and leading major change initiatives
