Purpose of the Position:

 

As IT Site Leader for Corning Life Sciences you will have responsibility for level 3 IT Support within two Massachusetts locations; Tewksbury, MA and  Bedford, MA..   

 

The IT Site Leader will be primary responsible for maintaining all site IT systems including infrastructure, manufacturing, business systems, and end user services. In this role, he/she will be the escalation point when issues occur and will act with urgency and drive resolution working with corporate IT service line teams globally.

 

This role will require a strong presence on location and will have an entrepreneurial spirit of engaging with business teams, looking for opportunities to support business initiatives and operations. He/She will also act as a champion of end user experiences in M365 and help drive adoption of new IT tools and services.

 

Day to Day Responsibilites:  

  • Manage lifecycle of IT systems and be the primary IT point of contact for business teams on site.
  • Maintain high systems performance and availability, ensure IT services do not cause business disruption.
  • Maintain high information and data security standards in compliance with corporate requirements and standards
  • Quickly build understanding of business operations and processes to be effective in the role
  • Develop a presence in the sites, build relationships with business teams to understand their challenges, coordinate and work with appropriate IT teams to drive solutions.
  • Work with business stakeholders to identify opportunities to drive continuous improvements in processes or system capabilities.
  • Be the primary point of contact for new requests for IT services (infrastructure, applications, or end user services).
  • Be the primary escalation point for issues causing business disruption. Coordinate/escalate with IT organization and drive resolution, document corrective and preventive actions.
  • Define and maintain IT performance metrics specific to site
  • Triage between Business and IT service line teams to coordinate routine maintenance of systems, and other planned outages.
  • Manage IT project portfolio, evaluate, shape requirements, and prioritize initiatives working with business partners
  • Be the IT project manager for site specific IT implementations in applications and infrastructure domains.
  • Act as champion for M365 end user experience roll outs and drive adoption of capability through user engagement
  • Administer SharePoint sites and site collections. Be able to create SharePoint sites and workflow capability when needed.
  • Communicate changes related to systems and services affecting the site users.
  • Facilitate training and education for end users on IT services and processes
  • Ensure successful change management and business reception of SAP ERP rollouts
  • Be comfortable supporting a wide range of office, business and manufacturing applications including call center, logistics, ERP.

 

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in computer or engineering related subject
  • 1-3 years' experience in IT roles of similar responsibility

 

Required Skills

  • Strong communication skills with experience interacting with communications, and interpersonal skills.
  • Technical expertise in one or more of these systems – ERP, finance, Manufacturing systems
  • Experience supporting systems in a high availability environment
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 suite of products – Teams, Office 365, SharePoint
  • Experience managing projects to success
  • Strong aptitude to learn new technologies and assist others in onboarding
  • Familiar with Agile/Scrum methodology and tools such as JIRA and Confluence
  • Collaborative team player with Integrity and strong work ethic
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Nimble and agile thinking to drive change that enables efficiencies and growth
  • Strong bias for action and an ability to deliver results despite the complex and fluid environment
  • Excellent customer engagement skills
