Scope of Position:

We are looking for a driven, creative, and resourceful professional to join the Cell Solutions Business Operations team. As an Assistant Product Line Manager (APLM), you will help support products across 3 business segments: (1) Drug Discovery includes Assay plates, Storage solutions, Genomics, ADME/TOX reagents and (2) Advanced cell culture includes Extracellular matrices (ECMs), Surface coated cell-ware, 3D cell culture, Permeable supports, Immunotherapy platform and (3) Core Cell culture consumables. The position will support several PLMs in a matrix-setting and requires interactions with Sales, Technical Support, Marcom, Customer Service, Manufacturing, Supply Chain Management, Quality & Regulatory Affairs to ensure internal and external stakeholder needs are met. We are looking for a self-motivated individual who has a basic understanding of business operation processes required to support sales with quick response times.

 

Day to Day Responsibilities:

  • Monitor, maintain, and release ECM reserves to ensure customer is able to procure requested lots.
  • Follow up with sales representatives to ensure that reserves are released, or a PO is placed.
  • Sales facilitation and enablement.
  • Support Product Line Manager with financial analysis and business modeling.
  • Maintain effective, regular communications with global sales and marketing groups.
  • Facilitate the development and deployment of marketing communication plans to include scientific conferences and exhibitions, e-marketing, promotions, application notes and sales literature.
  • Work with key dealers and PLM to develop marketing programs and gain support on growing sales.
  • Work with PLM and marketing communications to review and update product literature /brochures.
  • New product request process execution.
  • Multi-functional communication with internal manufacturing, quality, customer service and supply chain teams to facilitate rapid support of customer issues.
  • Responsible for documentation related to product life-cycle management, customer notifications, field actions etc.
  • Support PLM with forecast and inventory information for products using ERP-software program.
  • Assist PLM with pricing management for contract-based purchasing.
  • Regular tracking of product line performance according to key metrics.
  • Maintain knowledge of competitive products and market perception.

 

Travel Requirements:

  • Up to 25% domestic and international.

 

Hours of work/work schedule/flex-time:

  • Monday – Friday, standard business hours.

 

Required Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Engineering or Business discipline is required.
  • Prefer Masters level degree in Life Sciences or Business.

 

Required Years and Area of Experience:

  • Minimum of 1+ years post degree lab, product management or engineering experience.
  • Prefer experience within the life science or pharmaceutical industry.

 

Required Skills:

  • Science or Engineering technical background.
  • Knowledge of marketing tools and techniques.
  • Exposure in conducting financial analysis.

 

Desired Experience / Qualifications / Skills:

  • Experience in cell culture technology.
  • Knowledge or experience with the 3D cell culture and Drug Discovery markets.
  • Familiarity with product documentation systems.
  • Strong software skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, Visio and Salesforce.com.

 

Soft Skills:

  • Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal, and tried presentation abilities.
  • Strong customer focus.
  • You should be organized and have an ability to handle and prioritize different projects.
  • Good team skills and able to work in a dynamic multi-functional environment.
  • Ability to translate information between departments to the customer.
  • Ability to work in an ambiguous environment and make decisions with minimal information.
