Scope of Position:

In this role, you will manage the implementation of the CLS Cell & Gene Therapy strategy to ensure segment growth and achievement of the division’s revenue, profit, and shared goals.

Day to Day Responsibilities:

  • Develop a comprehensive market view of CLS cell therapy products and platforms based on a detailed understanding of industry, customer, and competitor trends, needs/demands and developments.
  • Initial Business case and financial model development for investment initiatives in cell & gene therapy
  • Work with Product Line Management (PLM) across key CLS businesses engaged in cell therapy to develop compelling market value propositions for product lines to differentiate Corning in the marketplace.
  • You will work with Sales, Product Engineering, Manufacturing, and Product Line Managers on recommendations for new products based on customer needs, manufacturing feasibility, pricing requirements and division profitability targets
  • Align with PLM’s, Sales and Manufacturing to ensure agreement between product platform market demand forecast, sales plans, and production capacity/schedule.
  • Own product roadmap and keeps PLM’s and Manufacturing informed of potential product adjustments and their implications to the production process and schedule.
  • Partner with Sales and PLM’s to define commercialization strategies for new product introductions marketed towards the Cell Therapy customer segment
  • Define the division cell therapy promotional strategy in collaboration with Marcomms and handle key messaging and spending.
  • Provide division leadership with product sales, market or customer information to make investment decisions.

Travel Requirements:

  • 25 %

Hours of work/work schedule/flex-time:

  • Standard business hours, Monday – Friday.

Required Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Biology or Biochemistry or related discipline.
  • Prefer MBA or Master/ PhD in Biology or Biochemistry or related discipline or related experience in gene or cell therapy.

Required Years and Area of Experience:

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in marketing strategy or product management and knowledge of marketing communications procedures
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in the areas of cell culture, cell processing, and/or cell therapy workflow

Required Skills:

  • Deep understanding of Corning and competitor cell therapy product applications and the market opportunities
  • Ability to learn/develop knowledge of strategic sales/marketing, planning and program delivery
  • Demonstrated analytical thinking skills and the ability to solve problems and develop programs with creativity and good judgment
  • Extensive knowledge of market mechanisms for disposables/capital equipment goals
  • Ability to assess customer needs and market trends within the context of product and business capabilities and the ability to translate this assessment into a workable growth strategy

Desired Experience / Qualifications / Skills:

  • Exceptional communication skills, project management and planning skills
  • Experience with Salesforce software
  • Experience Microsoft BI.
