Scope of Position:

As part of the Corning Life Science’s Market and Business Strategy Team, we nurture the gathering and managing of data to support market and competitive research and analysis on assigned topics in support of business planning activities. Individual will be also responsible for procuring competitor samples for technical analyses. Overall activities will contribute to a point of view on addressable market performance, category share, and competitive position. The project work, including but not limited to strategy development, will also be assigned as business needs require. Time will flex between ongoing market intel activities and project-based assignments.

 

Day to Day Responsibilities:

  • We identify, research and analyze market sources related to competitors, customers, and partners from global teams, conferences, databases.
  • We provide data and perform various analytics – financial, comparative, etc. to develop understanding of market and competitive environment.
  • Build dashboards, PowerPoint's, models, and other critical documents that effectively communicate results of efforts and recommendations to various leadership / partners
  • Procure samples for analysis from the technical team
  • Review patents and data for IP meetings and actions
  • Analyze quarterly earnings performance of market participants and support preparation of report(s) on relevant findings for global meetings.
  • Support development of quarterly report outs on various points of view for the division.
  • Contribute to the completion of specific programs and projects.
  • Support the analysis of areas such as: market research, product preference, technology and product potential, market size, penetration, and trends.
  • Performance Metrics:
    • Strive for timely delivery of high quality, accurate market data and inputs.
    • Passionate about timely distribution of assigned projects on time, scope, and budget.

 

Travel Requirements:

  • Negligible.
  • Some travel for conferences if required.

 

Hours of work/work schedule/flex-time:

  • Standard business hours; Monday – Friday.

 

Required Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Biological Sciences, Engineering, or related field.

 

Required Years and Area of Experience:

  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience in a project management and/or market/competitive intelligence role.

 

Required Skills:

  • Self-starter interested in market data mining and translating to business.
  • Analytical skills and use of associated tools.
  • Able to synthesize quantitative and qualitative information into a clear point-of-view.

 

Desired Experience / Qualifications / Skills:

  • Experience market research or analysis within a technical environment.
  • Experience within the Life Sciences Industry.
  • Life Science customer knowledge.
