Role Purpose
Corning’s Life Sciences organization is in the midst of an exciting post-pandemic transition. As we evolve our strategy to meet the demands of the current market, we are also evolving as an organization—building upon our rich legacy of innovation and unique shared culture to grow and maintain our leadership position for years to come.
As internal communications manager for Corning Life Sciences, you will work as a key member of the division communications team, providing support across the full spectrum of the division’s communications activities. You’ll be working with a dynamic team of professionals to engage employees, create strategic alignment, support our executives, and create contagious brand ambassador energy throughout the organization.
You will collaborate with internal partners, including senior leadership and the marketing communications team, as well as Corning’s corporate communications team, to develop best-in-class internal communications programs that drive growth and propel us into the future.
Day-to Day Responsibilities
- Develop initiatives that align with strategic business objectives and drive adoption among 4,000+ global employees, including deskless manufacturing teams.
- Collaborate with leadership to create and execute communication plans for key programs, events, and objectives, with defined metrics and reporting structures.
- Partner with the Director of Communications to execute plans for confidential projects, crises, and major change initiatives, maintaining discretion and sound judgment.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, influencing the strategic direction of internal and executive communications.
- Collaborate with HR to foster a positive work environment, instill values and culture principles, support onboarding, and measure impact through events and messaging.
- Manage team workload and contribute to content creation, including newsletters, articles, social media posts, scripts, thought leadership, branding materials, and sales tools.
- Oversee content strategy and editorial calendar for internal news channels, communication meetings, sharing events, and weekly employee newsletters.
- Liaise with the marketing and corporate communications teams to manage public relations activities, identifying opportunities, preparing key messages, and supporting spokespeople.
- Plan and execute internal events, including employee kick-offs, leadership meetings, communication meetings, and corporate events such as shareholder and Board meetings.
- Manage project budgets and resources, ensuring timely completion of deliverables using internal and external resources.
Experiences/Education - Required
Travel Requirements:
10-20% travel, primarily to Corning, NY, and other Life Sciences locations. Travel may include stakeholder meetings, conferences, and project-related engagements.
Work Schedule:
Standard business hours, Monday to Friday, with a hybrid schedule requiring at least three days in the office. Flexibility may be needed to accommodate deadlines or critical meetings.
Required Education:
Bachelor’s degree in communications or a related field.
Experience:
Minimum of 10 years of experience in communications roles, with expertise in strategic and tactical communication within complex organizations.

- Familiarity with the life sciences industry or willingness to learn and adapt.
- Experience with organizational transformations and change management to drive cultural shifts.
- Proven ability to develop communication strategies and compelling content across multiple formats.
- Strong cross-functional collaboration skills and ability to advise executives as a trusted partner.
- Comfortable managing confidential projects and working with senior stakeholders.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills tailored to diverse audiences.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience leading global initiatives with cultural sensitivity and consistency.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and effective time management.
- Advocacy for innovative ideas and creative solutions in communication strategies.

The range for this position is $111,919.00 - $153,889.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position are dependent on hours worked and may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
