Scope of Position:

 

Corning Life Sciences is looking for a dynamic marketing professional to join our marketing communications team. If you’re passionate about transforming technical product information and scientific data into compelling marketing messages, then this may be the position for you. The Corning Life Sciences marketing team uses integrated marketing communications programs to reach scientists working across areas of research, bioproduction and drug packaging – from cancer to drug screening to cell therapy development and drug fill/finish with pharmaceutical glass packaging. We get excited about connecting scientists with the right solutions to further their research, bring a drug to clinical trials or protect a drug once it’s ready to be delivered to patients, all while growing our business and market share. If you’re ready to be a part of a team of seasoned professionals who loves communications and getting creative, then learn more about the role below.  In this role, you will work with internal business clients to develop integrated marketing communications strategies and tactics to support 3D Cell Culture and Drug Discovery new and existing products, as well as key regional and CLS marketing objectives.

 

Day to Day Responsibilities:

 

  • Works with 3D CC/Drug Discovery/Advanced Cells commercial and business operations partners as well as internal scientific teams to develop comprehensive marketing strategies and tactical plans for the business groups and key marketing programs.
  • Leads the strategy, execution and implementation of the tactical components of the integrated marketing communications plan across all relevant channels.
  • Work with the Channel MarCom Leader to develop, plan and execute results driven channel marketing programs in support of business growth goals and advantaged distributor relationships.
  • Monitors spending to stay within defined budget.
  • Tracks results and reports back to internal stakeholders on lead generation, ROI as well as other relevant campaign metrics.
  • Works with business, scientific and commercial teams to develop a deep understanding of the buying journey and personas for assigned market segments.
  • Works with digital SMEs on marketing automation (lead nurture, lead attribution, etc.), web, social, webinars, SEO/SEM and other digital strategies and programs to generate awareness, create engagement and ultimately lead generation.
  • Track results and optimizing programs across all integrated marketing communications channels, both online and offline.
  • Works with the internal design teams and video producer as well as occasional outsourced work to external agencies.
  • Works with cross functional team to identify relevant industry events. Work with the Tradeshow team and relevant internal stakeholders to an event strategy, including development of integrated marketing communications programs that maximize attendance and engagement before, during, and after events utilizing email, social, web, and other channels. Also responsible for developing booth layouts, in-booth messaging, and graphics.
  • As budget allows, identify and engage with industry third party publications to secure paid rich content media placements to build awareness, thought leadership and technical credibility and brand authority for Corning Life Sciences brand and our products.
  • Content marketing strategy and execution: Research, ideation, writing, editing, and proofreading sales collateral, application notes, blog articles, infographics, videos, e-books and other marketing materials and rich content and media in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Collaborate with senior leaders, scientific teams and customers to develop enriched content in support of building thought leadership and technical credibility for Corning products as part of key campaigns and product launches.
  • Brand Compliance: Ensure all campaign marketing communications are following Corning and CLS Brand guidelines; consulting with Brand Specialist, as necessary.
  • International Support: Inform and share campaign strategies and materials with regional marcom counterparts in other CLS regions for regionalization as appropriate. Participate in regular communications with regional teams/contacts as requested.
  • Become familiar with Corning’s customer relationship management and marketing automation tools.
  • Manage external agencies, freelancers, and other vendors as needed.

 

Travel Requirements:

 

  • Up to 25%, Occasional travel to tradeshows, sales meetings and other Corning locations, both domestic and international.

 

 

Hours of work/work schedule/flex-time: 

 

  • Full-time with occasional requirements to work late to meet deadlines or to participate in international teleconferences.

 

 

Required Education:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business, or a related field.

 

Required Years and Area of Experience:

 

  • Minimum 8-10 years of experience in a content marketing, digital marketing, marketing communications role, experience in life sciences industry or medical device a plus.

 

 

Required Skills: 

 

  • Integrated marketing communications program experience.
  • Experience with Life Sciences industry, other technical industry or willingness to learn.
  • Strong project and budget management skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • A strong desire to develop winning marketing programs through creative thinking.
  • Digital marketing skills, including strong understanding of website content, social media, blog strategy, and partner/channel marketing.
  • Experience supporting executive communications or thought leadership content.
  • Strong writing, editing, content planning skills and ability to translate complex ideas into clear, audience-focused content
  • Good business judgment and the ability to work to budgets.
  • Ability to work effectively with senior leaders, cross-functional stakeholders, and external partners, including the ability to negotiate with, and manage, external vendors.
  • Familiar with marketing analytics.
  • Ability to provide feedback for video script development and editing.
  • Prior experience with social media content development.

The range for this position is $86,882.00 - $119,464.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
