Role Purpose
We are looking for a data-driven Pricing Specialist to provide expert pricing leadership and support for the Corning Life Science pricing function, specifically as it relates to contract operations. In this role, you will build and maintain subject matter expertise in proprietary pricing activities while ensuring our strategies remain agile. You will move beyond traditional spreadsheets by building Power BI reports to support the function, visualize trends, and apply basic coding to automate data workflows. This position is highly collaborative, requiring regular interaction with internal teams—including Sales, Customer Service, and Product Line Management—as well as external distributors and customer partners.
Key Responsibilities
- BI Reporting: Actively build and maintain Power BI reports to support daily pricing operations, providing the team with clear visibility into margin health and revenue impact.
- Contract & CPQ Management: Manage the full pricing contract lifecycle, including creation, updates, and renewals. Maintain product and pricing setups across Salesforce CPQ and other pricing tools.
- Analysis & Strategy: Conduct pricing research and help define organizational pricing rules and policies.
- Financial Operations: Process monthly dealer rebates and resolve price discrepancies to ensure smooth purchase order processing.
- Sales Support: Act as the dedicated pricing contact for a specific Sales region, providing tailored support and requests.
- Governance & Education: Monitor and enforce pricing policies while educating Account Managers on established rules.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner daily with Customer Service, Product Managers, and Finance to align business objectives.
- Data Innovation: Build and maintain Power BI reports and use basic coding (e.g., SQL, DAX) to automate manual pricing tasks and improve data consistency.
Experiences/Education - Required
- Bachelor’s degree in: Data Analytics, Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field.
- 1–3 years in pricing, financial analysis, or similar roles.
- Power BI: Proficiency in building reports (connecting data sources, transforming data in Power Query, and creating visuals).
- ERP/CRM: Proficiency in SAP and Salesforce (specifically Salesforce CPQ).
- MS Office Suite: Overall proficiency with Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint for professional communication and reporting.
- Coding: Foundational knowledge of SQL or Python/R for data manipulation.
- Excel: Advanced skills, including VLOOKUPs and pivot tables.
- Interpersonal Skills: Proven ability to interact effectively with diverse stakeholders, from internal teams to external distributor partners.
Operating Hours & Core Time:
- 40 standard hours: ≈ 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
- 3 Days in office
This position does not support immigration sponsorship.
The range for this position is $63,000.00 - $86,625.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
