Scope of Position:

 

Reporting to the Business Manager this position has global commercial responsibility for the Serologicals and Containers portfolio. The position requires interaction with individuals in all areas of Corning including Sales, Technical Support, Order Service, Forecasting, Inventory Control, Manufacturing, Supply Chain Management, Quality, Regulatory Affairs and R&D to assure that customers’ needs are met. You should know and understand the sales process from initial customer contact through successful use of Corning products in the workflow. The Product Manager in collaboration with the Business Manager will be the champion of new product development working with customers, technical service, the sales team, R&D and Applications Development to identify new applications and product ideas and then working through Corning’s Innovation Process to commercialize these new product opportunities.

 

Major Responsibilities:

 

  • Drive top line sales growth and manage costs to achieve Sales, AGM targets
  • Drive Integrated Business Planning for products under supervision
  • Maintain and develop competitive products, customers and market trends knowledge
  • Lead long term Product line plan development and/or continuous Improvement
  • Manage New product process for products under supervision (Forecast, Channel and commercial launch)

 

Commercial Activities:

 

  • Define annual Commercial plan by Product Line including pricing strategy and promotional growth initiatives
  • Work with key dealers to develop marketing programs and gain support on growing sales
  • Monitor pipeline of opportunities to support sales team when needed

 

Marketing/Communications Activities:

 

  • Define annual communication plan for the product line
  • Work with MarCom team to develop marketing content and collaterals
  • Over site and coordination of multiple conferences and tradeshows to support the products

 

Manufacturing Activities:

 

  • Approve and communicate Products changes internally and externally
  • Support Product complaint process
  • Meet with customers to facilitate voice of customer feedback regarding product changes/upgrades and new products
  • Contribute to Product Benchmarking activities
  • Commercial lead in manufacturing projects related to products under supervision

 

 Travel Requirements: 

 

  • Up to 30% domestic and international travel.

 

 

Hours of work/work schedule/flex-time:

 

  • Monday- Friday, standard business hours

 

 

Required Education:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, communications, supply chain, science, or engineering

 

 

Required Years and Area of Experience:

 

  • Minimum of 5+ years of business experience including product management, marketing, and/or sales within the Life Science Industry.

The range for this position is $100,700.00 - $138,463.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
