Scope of Position
We are looking for a driven, creative, and resourceful professional to join the Liquid Handling Business Operations team. As a Product Line Manager (PLM), you will lead the Global Automation Product Portfolio. This position will be responsible for the strategic and operational management of a product portfolio that supports automation systems in the life sciences and laboratory industries. This role combines market analysis, product development, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure the success of consumables, such as robotic tips, plates and reservoirs designed for automated liquid handling platforms.
The successful candidate will act as the subject matter expert for their product line, driving innovation, ensuring customer satisfaction, and achieving revenue and profitability goals.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the product roadmap for liquid handling consumables, aligning with business goals and market trends.
- Define product requirements and specifications based on customer needs, market research, and competitive analysis.
- Monitor product performance and lifecycle, making data-driven decisions to optimize the portfolio.
- Maintain effective, regular communications with global sales, regional PLMs, and market groups, partnering to develop product collateral, campaigns and promotional materials.
- Manage forecast for product portfolio.
- Work closely with Supply Chain to monitor supply and communicate corrective actions with supply chain/manufacturing as needed.
- Develop and execute annual global commercial plans designed to achieve annual product line objectives, including pricing strategy and promotional growth initiatives.
- Support special projects as defined by the Liquid Handling Business Director/Business Manager, in support of key Business Initiatives.
- Provide technical expertise and assist in development of sales tools and training to the sales team, distributors and key accounts and channel partners.
- Support and define cost reduction opportunities for the portfolio in support of the business
- Up to 10-25% domestic with limited international travel.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in life sciences, engineering, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred
- 5+ years of experience in product management, preferably in the life sciences, laboratory automation, or liquid handling industry.
- Proven track record of managing consumables or similar product lines.
- Ability to think strategically and develop businesses.
- Strong business opportunity assessment and financial analysis skills.
- Acumen for finance and manufacturing
- Strong project management skill with the ability to handle multiple priorities
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with diverse teams
- Understanding of product development process; ability to lead new product projects
- Proficiency with PowerBI
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office

The range for this position is $99,433.00 - $136,721.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position are dependent on hours worked and may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
