Job Title: Sr. Financial Analyst, CLS

Location: USA, Tewksbury (Hybrid/Flexible available)

Role Overview: This role is part of the Division Finance team within Corning Life Sciences. This individual will partner with Finance and Business Functional Leaders (Commercial, Product Management, Business Transformation, HR, Strategy, etc.) to monitor spending, evaluate investments, and deliver appropriate decision-making support. He/she will ensure compliance with local regulations, Sarbanes-Oxley requirements, Corning policies and procedures and US GAAP. This role has a great amount of visibility and career potential!

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Helps provide tools and reports to enable better understanding of P&L performance and drives efficiencies/process improvements in financial analysis and output.
  • Responsible for supporting the period closing process preparation including posting of entries and accuracy of the general ledger.
  • Supports the preparation of monthly review packages with value-added analytics that highlight key trends, variances, forecasts, and anticipatory analysis for operating expenses.
  • Key business partner to the functional leadership staff. Creates financial models and dashboards to help our business partners understand and grow our business.
  • Performs the closing process to ensure timeliness, accuracy, and consistency of reporting with US GAAP, statutory, and tax accounting requirements. Implements and ensures business adherence to internal financial controls.
  • In conjunction with division leadership, develops monthly forecasts, annual plan and five-year strategic plan.
  • Delivers actionable reporting on monthly results in comparison to forecast and plan and provides insights and perspectives on appropriate actions required to address variances.
  • Executes routine, ad hoc analysis and reporting to support business unit objectives and business partner relationships
  • Serves on various Division and corporate project teams on ad-hoc basis

 

Reporting Structure: This role reports directly to the Division Commercial Controller

 

Travel Requirements: <10% travel required

 

Education & Experience Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business-related field
  • 5+ years of relevant experience
  • Previous Life Sciences experience is a plus

 

Required Skills:

  • Ability to develop influential relationships with business leaders (business partnership)
  • Knowledge of financial and management accounting, including systems, compliance and reporting requirements (US GAAP, SOX)
  • Ability to challenge decisions and provide alternative recommendations

Desired Skills:

  • Prior experience in multinational manufacturing organization
  • Experience with business intelligence tools (PowerBI, Tableau)
  • Peoplesoft Supply Chain/SAP ERP Experience
  • Deep understanding of life sciences markets, regions, products, personnel, and strategy
