Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.
Purpose of Position:
Maximize the sale of Corning Optical Communications (COC) products within the Central United States sales territory to grow the business and to align with the core business strategies of the company. Develop and execute a territory or account sales plan focused on delivering network solutions that leverage Corning's comprehensive capabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
• Meet or exceed annual sales budget.
• Generate new business and maintain existing customer base for Charter, Comcast, Cox and Altice.
• Ensure a balanced mix of sales calls to assigned customers, distributors, business partners and consultants, as appropriate, and provide ongoing training with these customer segments.
• Maintains frequent contact with market trade associations to be aware of market developments (eg FTTH Council, SCTE).
• Stays informed of customer requirements and key buying factors and uses this knowledge to pursue profitable selling opportunities for current or next generation products and to modify account plans as needed.
• Collects market, customer, and competitor intelligence and insights and shares this knowledge with others, as appropriate, to inform sales, marketing, and technical strategies as well as the demand forecast and sales planning processes.
Required Education/Experience/Skills:
• Bachelor's degree preferred
• Proven experience in business development, sales or account management preferably within the MSO market.
• Strong understanding of Charter, Comcast, Cox and Altice business operations, market dynamics and competitive landscape.
• Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and presentations skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
• Existing network and relationships within Comcast and Charter would be highly advantageous
Other Requirements:
• Willingness to travel (up to 75%) as needed to meet with clients and attend industry events
• Position will be based in home-based office in either Dallas, TX or Chicago, IL
The base salary range for this position is $71,667.00 - $98,543.00 plus an attractive variable compensation package. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
