Corning’s Environmental Technologies segment manufactures ceramic substrates and filter products for emissions control in mobile and stationary applications around the world.
Job Description
An account manager for environmental technologies business, responsible for commercial operations and account management for Japanese OEMs (and supply chain) in Japan, reporting to Commercial Manager for CET. Execute following commercial responsibilities under supervisions of team leaders and collaborate with account engineer, customer service and quality team.
- Develop and execute business plan / account plans (strategy), annual sales budget, and 5 years sales plan for the accounts assigned.
- Provides daily commercial support including but not limited to, quotations, order and delivery management, forecasts (short and long term), inventory management, and other general commercial items including monthly reports.
- Develops and manage relationship with supply chain and OEMs, including key decision makers, and influencers. Understands their needs and requirements, and execute programs to accomplish Corning’s objectives while maximizing customer satisfactions.
- Identify new market opportunities and development entry plans to expand customer base.
- Understands customers’ demands and future production roadmap and provide customer’s forecast information to Corning internal teams (AE, PLM, Market intelligence)
- Coordinates commercial or technical meetings, and issues trip/call reports, and manage action items.
- Drive cross-functional collaboration with technical teams to support resolution of customers technical needs
- Performs as the primary contact for customers in related to commercial related inquiries, product availabilities, applications, and support other general technical inquiries working with Application Engineers.
- Create business case to gain internal agreement and alignment for execution of specific project leading to business plan/account plan (pricing, rebates, product changes, source changes, new product launch, etc.)
- Collects and communicate competitors’ intelligence to HQ marketing/intelligence group
- Leverage competitor insights to refine strategies and identify opportunities for differentiation
【Requirements】
- Sales or Marketing or Technical Support experience (5+ years)
- Project management experience
- Understanding of automotive industry, its laws and regulations, and sustainability initiatives
- Bachelor's degee in business/marketing/international relations
- Japanese driver's license
- Fluent in Japanese, and TOEIC 800+
- Proficient in using Microsoft 365 suite
【Preferred】
- Experience in automotive industry (especially engine emissions aftertreatment systems)
- New client / sales expansion experience
- Industry-related Bachelor's degree
- MBA degree
- TOEIC 900+
- Proficient in using CRM and performance tracking software
