Corning’s Environmental Technologies segment manufactures ceramic substrates and filter products for emissions control in mobile and stationary applications around the world.
【PURPOSE STATEMENT】
Responsible for leading the end-to-end Talent Acquisition function for Japan. Reporting directly to the TA Manager, South AP, with a dotted reporting to the HR Director, Japan, this role serves as a strategic and operational partner, supporting business growth by attracting, sourcing, and hiring high-caliber talent across diverse business portfolios.
Operating independently as the inaugural TA resource in Japan, the Talent Acquisition Lead will ensure effective collaboration within a matrixed multinational environment, while advancing employer branding and candidate experience in alignment with company values.
【PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES】
- End-to-End Recruitment Management

- Leads and executes the full lifecycle of recruitment, from requisition to onboarding, utilizing both agencies and direct sourcing channels.
- Partners with hiring managers to define workforce needs, role requirements, and candidate profiles.
- Utilizes ATS and other tools to develop and manage talent pipelines, monitor recruitment metrics, and implement best practices for quality and efficiency.
- Continuously improves sourcing, screening, and selection processes.
- Stakeholder & Vendor Management

- Builds and maintains relationships with internal stakeholders (Hiring Managers, leadership, HR) and external partners (agencies, vendors).
- Oversees vendor engagements ensuring compliance and effective management of contracts and positions.
- Employer Branding & Talent Attraction

- Develops and executes employer branding initiatives in collaboration with HR, promoting the company’s reputation as an employer of choice in Japan.
- Leverages digital and other channels to attract and engage top talent.

- Functions as the sole recruitment representative for Japan, demonstrating autonomy and initiative.

- Contributes to global, regional and local TA projects and initiatives.
- Haken Management

- Manages all aspects of Haken (temporary staffing) operations, including coordination with Haken agencies, compliance with Japanese labor laws, contract administration, headcount tracking and performance oversight to ensure effective and compliant workforce utilization.
【REQUIREMENTS】
· Proven experience working in multinational corporations with diverse business portfolios, ideally within industrial domains.
· Demonstrated hands-on in-house/RPO recruitment expertise covering the full hiring lifecycle.
· Native Japanese language skills, with strong English communication abilities (verbal and written).
· Demonstrated ability to work independently as the sole talent acquisition resource at a country level.
· Experience with hands-on full-cycle recruiting, advanced interview techniques, candidate evaluation methods, and proficiency in ATS.
· Strong relationship-building and stakeholder management skills with both internal and external partners.
· Prior experience managing Haken recruitment and specialized agency contracts.
· Experience with employer branding initiatives in a B2B context and familiarity with digital talent attraction.
· Vendor management experience ensuring effective utilization and performance of recruitment partners.
· Experience working within a matrix HR organization, including COEs and HR Business Partners & Operations.
