Role Purpose

Corning develops industry-leading ceramic substrate and filtration products that reduce vehicle emissions worldwide. As a Sales Representative for North America OEM, you will serve as the primary commercial and technical interface for a key automotive OEM account — driving customer satisfaction, new business growth, and next-generation product development across the region. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the front-line commercial and technical resource for a North America OEM account, managing product inquiries, quality issues, process change requests, and operational escalations across a broad product portfolio
  • Build and advance strategic relationships within the customer's engineering, development, and operations organizations; collect market intelligence to support forecasting, opportunity identification, and regional growth strategy
  • Analyze product performance data — including reliability, yields, and risk assessments — and present findings clearly to internal and external stakeholders
  • Partner with global account leaders, operations, engineering, and development teams to represent the customer perspective internally and drive cost, lead-time, and performance improvements
  • Lead or participate in regional new and next-generation product development initiatives
  • Build and lead a customer-facing team focused on ensuring customer needs are met and products are integrated effectively

Experiences/Education - Required

  • Bachelor's degree (BS) in Engineering (Mechanical, Automotive, Materials, or Ceramics preferred) or Bachelor's degree (BS/BA) in Business Administration (concentration in Sales/Marketing preferred)
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience, preferably in the automotive industry
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret complex product specifications and application findings and communicate them effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Experiences/Education - Desired

  • Familiarity with automotive quality and process standards, including IATF 16949 (formerly TS 16949), Automotive Industry Action Group (AIAG) standards, and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP)
  • Familiarity with Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) systems, Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS), and WWESS
  • Knowledge of engine and emission control technology and current industry trends
  • Understanding of ceramic substrate and diesel particulate filter (DPF) products, including physical attributes, specifications, and quality methods
  • Knowledge of reliability engineering principles
  • Experience in product and process change management
  • Experience leading a globally based, cross-functional team

The range for this position is $97,395.00 - $133,919.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
