Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

Objectives:

The Senior Hyperscale Program Manager will partner closely with different departments within both TRM and Corning Optical Communications, including Supply Chain, Manufacturing facility staff, Quality, Engineering and Finance, to coordinate all aspects of support for assigned customer(s). The role is customer facing and requires frequent engagement with various functions at the customer(s), including engineering, manufacturer quality and sourcing. Daily activities will range from product innovation and engineering, product change management, product and facility qualifications, managing RMA requirements, customer order follow up, to post-delivery support to the customer (quality and engineering).

Responsibilities:

  • We with the quality teams at our global manufacturing facilities to develop the commercial response to RMAs and orchestrate discussions with the customer.

  • Be the official TRM commercial liaison with customer engineering and supplier quality groups in support of co-innovation process, failure analysis reviews, etc!
  • Act as primary contact point to customer field engineering team and geo managers for assigned data center region for all business and technical issues, including discussion on upcoming installations and orders, need for on-site support, product quality issues, RMA status, etc.
  • Work closely with internal engineering resources to review data, test plans, craft the commercial message, and ultimately drive the technical engagement with customer.
  • Support co-innovation team by administrating the customer NPI process, coordinating regular engagement with key partners to ensure landmarks are met!
  • Collaborate with manufacturing facilities, external technology partners and internal partners regarding product changes, new product introductions, modernization of standard methodologies and manufacturing location diversification.
  • Prioritize interdepartmental activities to ensure completion of all commitments made relative to product delivery schedules and quality.
  • Communicate all required information in a timely manner.
  • Supervise projects to ensure work is on schedule.
  • Explore and develop additional business opportunities within assigned account(s).
  • Provide regular updates to Management on progress of projects.

Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience in a technical role, preferably with optical fiber related products

  • 5+ years of experience in a commercial or product line management role, preferably in the Data Center segment.

Skills:

  • Deep knowledge of data center structured cabling product sets and data center architectures

  • Excellent knowledge of all types of fiber optic cable assemblies and components preferable
  • Previous experience nurturing customer relationships
  • Ability to lead numerous projects simultaneously
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Collaborative leadership with proven success working a multi-functional team
  • Flexible to travel a minimum of 25%

Education Requirement:

  • BS, preferably in Engineering or Technical Field

  • MBA a plus
