Scope of Position:  

  • Work under the direction of an engineer to promote environmental compliance with respect to air, waste, water, noise, and regulated chemicals.  
  • Identify potential sustainability-related improvements and present findings or progress reports at team meetings  
  • Work with facilities/maintenance resources to implement EH&S-related projects  
  • Support Health & Safety activities as needed

Travel Requirements

  • Minimal

Hours of work/work schedule/flex-time:  

  • Basic work hours are 40hrs/week; 8am-5pm

Education and Experience:  

  • Enrolled in BS or MS program related to Environmental / Civil engineering, Chemical engineering, or similar field  
  • Current cumulative GPA of 3.00 or higher  
  • Relevant lab or internship experience a plus

Required Skills:  

  • Ability to work in a plant environment and with external contractors  
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks  
  • Flexible - able to adapt and modify plans as situation demands  
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills  
  • Demonstrated familiarity / capability with MS Office programs (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

Desired Skills:  

  • Experience with Six Sigma DMAIC principles
  • Familiarity with environmental permitting and regulations  
  • Exposure to Gensuite or other EHS software platforms

  • Project leadership and problem-solving skills  
  • Capable of building relationships and interacting at all levels of the organization
