Position Description

  • Ensures entity compliance with local regulations, GAAP accounting principles and Corning policies and procedures.
  • Manages the month-end financial statement close process including manual journal entries, variance and spending analysis, and reporting.
  • Supports department managers to control costs.
  • Prepares, reviews, and maintains monthly account reconciliations.
  • Manages all forecasting processes – monthly, annual budget and five year planning process.
  • Maintains plant standard cost.
  • Controls the financials of the local Capital portfolio.
  • Provides ad-hoc financial analysis for Plant Controller and Staff.
  • Prepares financial presentations for Plant Leadership.
  • Drives finance process improvement.
  • Provides financial analysis related to capital projects, cost reduction, and other initiatives as required.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance
  • 3-5 years financial accounting and preferably manufacturing experience
  • MBA/CPA preferred

Required Skills:

  • Strong technical skills; proficiency in Excel / PowerPoint
  • SAP ECC ERP system experience
  • PeopleSoft Supply Chain and Finance System experience
  • Khalix skills
  • Cost accounting experience
  • Sarbanes-Oxley knowledge and documentation
  • Ability to analyze and interpret data and link to business implications
  • Problem solving capability
  • Good presentation skills
