Scope of Position

Provides leadership and technical expertise in effectively managing maintenance activities for the plants manufacturing and facilities related equipment.  Includes responsibility for the plants CMMS – Maximo, along with planning, scheduling and executing predictive, preventative, and reactive maintenance activities to achieve maintenance excellence.  May direct the daily work activities of maintenance personnel and contractors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Reviews job requests and determines what materials, labor and job steps are required and when the work can be scheduled with operations input.  Confers with work requestors and determines if work requests are valid for processing.
  • Creates work orders, estimates labor requirements, and ensure all necessary parts and materials are available to complete the work.  Obtains necessary parts and materials as needed.
  • Assists with developing weekly schedules for maintenance personnel and participates in development of longer term maintenance plans and schedules.  
  • Communicates maintenance schedules to operations, engineering, quality and other support teams to resolve work and resource allocation problems.
  • Confers with production supervisors and planner to coordinate the maintenance PM and production work schedules to ensure equipment availability.
  • Establishes daily priorities for work requests, stages materials for planned jobs, and assigns work requests to specific resources.  Reviews, prioritizes, and organizes backlog as necessary.
  • Participates in planned maintenance activities
  • Provides technical expertise with equipment problem solving, work prioritization and resource re-allocation.
  • Tracks maintenance related metrics and communicates to key stakeholders
  • Improves the planning and scheduling processes to reduce resources and waste.
  • Follows up with work requestors to ensure work was completed satisfactorily.
  • Maintains the plant CMMS work order system (Maximo).
  • Documents planned and completed work in order to establish equipment and rebuild history for equipment. Trains maintenance personnel in the use of plant’s CMMS.  
  • Ensures 5S compliance and initiates new opportunities for improvement.
  • Establishes and optimizes preventive / predictive maintenance programs for plant manufacturing and facilities equipment.
  • Conducts analysis on maintenance data to identify failure modes and root causes of maintenance problems, and to identify problems in a timely manner.
  • Supports overall plant safety including ownership of safety element and projects

Experiences/Education - Required

  • Minimum of 5 years of related experience 
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Technical knowledge of plant manufacturing and facilities equipment along with knowledge of different maintenance skills 
  • Experience with a CMMS (Maximo is a plus) and developing predictive and preventative maintenance programs, TPM, or RCM.
  • Computer skills with Microsoft office applications

  • Lean Six Sigma, and DMAIC
  • SAP experience

The range for this position is $85,191.00 - $117,138.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position are dependent on hours worked and may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
