Scope of the position 

Function as the measurement systems leader in Corning Pharmaceutical Glass facility in Vineland. Minimize downtime by identifying root causes and implementing robust engineering solutions. Develop deep understanding of measurement systems and how they interface with other plant systems. 

 

Responsibilities 
• Maintain, troubleshoot, and improve measurement systems to ensure equipment uptime and product quality metrics. 
• Primary receiver of new measurement systems 
• Collaborate with other organizations to align plant measurement priorities 
• Owner of plant measurement systems and measurement training plan 
• Develop data interfaces with controls and IT to ensure proper data usage and reporting 
• Development of operational and training procedures for measurement systems 
• Provide measurements expertise to cross functional teams when needed 
• Updating measurement documents and drawings as changes are made to the systems 
• Perform MSA’s and R&R’s to ensure new measurement systems operate to specifications 
• Work with other plant functional groups to identify and control 
• Identify and lead improvements to existing measurement systems 
• Align new systems to plant and corporate standards 

 

Travel:
• Minimal travel time required - <5%

 

Hours:
• Normal Business hours 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM M-F 
• Production support off hours as needed. 

 

Required Education and Experience: 
• BS/MS in Engineering • Strong knowledge of measurements and optics 
• Manufacturing experience, ability to work in a manufacturing environment 
• Well-developed troubleshooting ability 
• Programming, networking understanding, and the ability to understand structured code (VB .NET, C#, Java, Python) 

 

Desired Skills 
• Image processing experience. 
• Experience with cognex cameras 
• Experience in implementing control strategies 
• Familiarity with statistical analysis 
• Experience with laser sensors 
• PLC programming/ladder logic

• Technical curiosity, desire to identify underlying mechanisms and root causes.
