Scope of Position

In this Internship, you will provide engineering support for job classifications that engage in within the Engineering/Manufacturing job family. We look for you to work on assignments that are complex in nature where considerable judgment and initiative are required in resolving problems and making recommendations. May determine methods and procedures on new assignments and may provide guidance to other personnel.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work will include project and process activities.
  • Provide technical solutions to equipment, safety, and/or process challenges.
  • Applicants should have the ability to work in a team-based environment and be able to participate as an individual contributor.
  • Work under the direction of an engineer to:
    • Become familiar with manufacturing equipment and processes for coating of glass pharmaceutical packaging -Perform data collection and analysis
    • Work with plant and division engineering on process improvement opportunities
    • Plan and execute experiments
    • Support basic process troubleshooting and identifying of root causes
  • Final presentation at the conclusion of the internship.

Requirements

Required Education:

  • Pending Junior, Senior or Master's level active students within Degree programs of Chemical Engineering, Ceramics, Material Science, or Mechanical Engineering majors or similar field.


Requirements

  • Ability to work in a plant environment
  • Strong technical fundamentals in material science and/or process engineering​​
  • Proficient with Microsoft applications.
  • Ability to apply skills to solve process challenges
  • Must be available for 10 weeks during Summer 2025 (May-August 2025) with a graduation date of December 2025 or later
  • Be willing to work at the posted job location


Desired Skills:

  • Prior manufacturing or internship or experiences (experience with glass or coatings is a plus)
  • Basic statistical understanding.
  • Exposure to Lean or Six Sigma.
  • Technical writing with the ability to deliver technical presentations to operators, engineers, and managers.

​The range for this position is $1,635.00 - $3,185.00 biweekly.  Starting pay for the successful applicant is prescribed based on geographic location, nature of position, and year in school.
