Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

 

Purpose of the Position:

Corning’s Product Delivery and Quality team is responsible for the deployment of Radio Access Network (RAN) solutions to wireless Operators and channel partners. The team works with Corning’s customers to develop product verification strategies and deploy Corning RAN solutions in Operator labs and field trials in commercial networks. They are responsible for end-to-end support, deployment, and operational activities for the Corning Wireless E-RAN solutions. We are looking for a highly motivated and resourceful individual to provide high quality customer support in the North American market to a large Tier-1 Operator. The ideal candidate has expertise in testing, troubleshooting and support skills on end-to-end mobile networks.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Understand the functionality and requirements, develop the test cases including detailed test procedures and expected test results.

• Execute the testcase and report progress/ test results to all stakeholders on a periodic basis.

• Analyze test results and work with Corning TAC support and engineering to track and resolve defects identified during the solution verification.

• Perform pre/post upgrade health check, site monitoring, and performance analysis on FOA and customer production network.

• Participate in knowledge sharing activities and mentor new team members.

• Identify continuous improvements in process and tools to gain efficiencies and time to market while improving productivity. 

 

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree, in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or Computer Engineering or Equivalent.

• 5+ years of experience performing interoperability testing (IOT) of 4G and/or 5G ERAN and end to end testing in mobile infrastructure technology deployments including systems architecture, troubleshooting, network monitoring, and performance analysis.

• Solid understanding of Wireless Carriers and technologies (e.g., 4G/5G, NSA, and SA).

• Familiarity of 3GPP and 3GPP2 standards and best practices.

• Detailed knowledge of IP Protocols including IPv4, IPv6, IPSEC, transport and routing protocols and network protocols.

The range for this position is  $93,356.00   -  $128,365.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position are dependent on hours worked and may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
