Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.
Role Purpose
Corning Optical Communications (COC) is a global leader in fiber optic and copper communications systems. As Territory Sales Manager for the Northwest Territory, you will own the full sales cycle for COC's portfolio of network solutions — building and managing relationships with end users, distributors, contractors, and consultants to drive revenue growth and expand Corning's regional presence.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a written territory sales plan to meet or exceed assigned telecommunications product sales budgets
- Build and manage a balanced customer base across end users, distributors, contractors, and consultants; deliver ongoing product and solutions training across each segment
- Partner closely with Major Account Managers to support key accounts and properties within the territory
- Maintain accurate pipeline documentation and activity reporting in Salesforce.com; submit timely, accurate reports to the Regional Sales Manager
- Represent Corning at regional and national trade shows; travel throughout the Northwest Territory to support customer needs (up to 70%)
Required Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience in sales, marketing, product management, or engineering
- Demonstrated solution-selling ability — including diagnosing customer needs, understanding business and P&L implications, and aligning product solutions to measurable outcomes
- Experience developing and executing territory or account plans; proficiency managing pipeline activity in a CRM tool
- Valid driver's license
- Home-based office located within WA or OR; ability to travel up to 70% within the Northwest Territory (WA, OR, AK, ID)
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (B.S. or B.A.); marketing, business, or technical fields
- Industry experience in fiber optic, telecommunications, or network infrastructure
- Familiarity with Corning Optical Communications products, solutions, and value proposition
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Salesforce.com
- Builds productive relationships across customer organizations and internal partners; adapts sales approach based on competitive dynamics and shares market intelligence with internal stakeholders

The range for this position is $77,145.00 - $106,075.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
