Responsibilities:

  • Promotes Corning’s products and services to existing customers to differentiate Corning in the market place and secure new or extend existing selling opportunities
  • Closes sales opportunities through aligning customers’ expectations with the division’s ability to deliver
  • Maintains frequent contact with the customer to strengthen the relationship, continually assess Corning’s effectiveness in meeting the customer’s needs, and ultimately maximize sales penetration and customer retention
  • Customizes presentations and marketing collateral to fit the customer’s technical needs
  • Collects market, customer, and competitor intelligence and insights and disseminates this knowledge across the function to inform sales, marketing, and technical strategies
  • Supports existing customers with issues related to logistics, qualification, and / or a variety of contractual terms
  • Educates customers and keeps customers up-to-date on product changes and new product offerings
  • May work across countries, ensuring that Corning is represented favorably and consistently across the region
  • May involve application of knowledge and methods for understanding physical phenomena to achieve specified characteristics and criteria for products and processes
  • Encompasses scientific and technological principles involved in product design and quality requirements, with an emphasis on compatibility between the product and potential applications
  • Specification negotiation, implementation and maintenance
  • Support for develop and growth Corning businesses in EMEA
  • Interface with technical teams and plants worldwide

 

Qualifications:

  • Master degree or a PHD degree in Physics, Chemistry, Optics or another Science
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Team player with high integrity and strong drive
  • Fluent command of the English and German language
  • Precision Optics background/knowledge is a plus
  • Ability to communicate in French and/or Russian and/or Hebrew is a plus
  • Work experience in a matrix organization would be beneficial
  • Willing to travel extensively
