Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

 

Role Purpose

 

The NA Regional Planner, Fiber is responsible for developing and maintaining the North America fiber manufacturing supply and capacity plan of record as part of the monthly Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning (SiOP) process. This role requires close coordination with cross‑functional partners including the global supply chain team, commercial organization, production line managers, operations, engineering, and finance to ensure alignment between demand, capacity, and operational constraints. The planner analyzes manufacturing capabilities and translates business requirements into executable plans that support service, cost, and inventory objectives. In addition, this role supports the development, enhancement, and adoption of advanced planning tools to improve planning accuracy, visibility, and decision‑making across the organization.

 

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Lead the monthly North America Fiber SIOP supply planning process, ensuring alignment across cost, service, and inventory objectives.
  • Partner with Operations, Technology, and Product Development teams to validate planning assumptions that impact available capacity.
  • Develop and maintain the North America supply plan, balancing business commitments with manufacturing capabilities and inventory strategy.
  • Review manufacturing and supply plans with leadership to gain alignment and support business commitments.
  • Conduct scenario analyses to evaluate capacity and supply impacts under varying assumptions, including product mix, equipment availability, and production performance.
  • Lead planning scenarios for new product introductions (NPI) and capacity expansion initiatives.
  • Serve as a key user and active contributor on the Kinaxis (Helix) project team, supporting adoption and transition to advanced planning tools.
  • Under the direction of the Global Fiber Planning Manager, develop and maintain the 5-year equipment supply and capacity strategy for North America Fiber operations.

 

Education and Experience- Required:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or related field
  • Minimum 3 years experience in supply chain planning, production scheduling, materials planning, procurement, logistics, or operations
  • Experience interfacing across multiple functions including commercial, supply chain, finance, and engineering
  • Advanced Excel, PowerPoint
  • Experience in ERP / supply planning tools 

 

Desired Skills: 

 

  • Kinaxis or SAP
  • Power BI skills 
  • APICS certification (CPIM/CSCP or equivalent)

The range for this position is $82,207.00 - $113,035.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
