Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

Role Summary


This Project Manager role is responsible for leading cross-functional projects from planning through execution, while keeping work aligned to business priorities, technical needs, and sustainable results. The role requires strong coordination across functions, clear communication, thoughtful decision-making, and the ability to move work forward through influence, accountability, and partnership.

This person will help translate project goals into clear plans, maintain momentum across stakeholders, surface risks early, and support strong execution against commitments. Success in this role will depend not only on what gets delivered, but also on how the work is led across teams.

 

Responsibilities:
•    Lead project planning (build and maintain clear project plans, timelines, milestones, and deliverables), execution, monitoring, and closeout for assigned initiatives
•    Coordinate work across technical, operational, and business partners to help translate broader business or technical priorities into actionable project plans to ensure alignment and progress
•    Identify risks, issues, and dependencies early, and drive timely mitigation and escalation when needed
•    Facilitate project meetings, document key decisions, and track actions to completion
•    Communicate project status, priorities, and tradeoffs clearly to stakeholders and leadership
•    Help translate broader business or technical priorities into actionable project plans
•    Support accountability across teams by clarifying owners, next steps, and expected outcomes
•    Maintain accurate project documentation and ensure key information is accessible to stakeholders

 

Qualifications
•    Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial, or Process engineering disciplines, or Materials Science
•    5+ years’ experience leading cross-functional projects in a technical, manufacturing, engineering, R&D, or operations environment
•    Demonstrated strong organizational and project planning skills, ability to identify issues, structure next steps, and maintain momentum in a complex environment, and ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
•    Strong written and verbal communication skills
•    Ability to influence stakeholders and drive alignment without direct authority
•    Sound problem-solving and decision-making capability

 

Desired Skills, Ability, Experience:
•    Project management certification such as PMP or equivalent supporting familiarity with project tracking tools, dashboards, and reporting processes
•    Experience working in a matrixed organization involving supporting initiatives that require coordination across multiple technical or operational groups

The range for this position is $121,698.00 - $167,336.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
