The Specialty Materials segment manufactures products that provide more than 150 material formulations for glass, glass ceramics and fluoride crystals to meet demand for unique customer needs. Consequently, this segment operates in a wide variety of commercial and industrial markets that include display optics and components, semiconductor optics components, aerospace and defense, astronomy, ophthalmic products, telecommunications components and cover glass that is optimized for portable display devices.

 

JOB DESCRIPTION:

 

Position purpose:


• Maintain and operate all HVAC systems, chillers, plumbing systems, building management system, generators, compressed air systems In a 24 hrs. / 7 day a week manufacturing process.


Duties and Responsibilities:


• Maintain and operate all HVAC systems, chillers, plumbing systems, building management system, generators, compressed air systems
• Perform PM and corrective maintenance on all HVAC equipment and coordinate with 3rd party contractors as needed
• Prepare and submit summary reports of equipment conditions with recommendation for improvement
• Comply with all safety procedures and requirements
• Maintain compliance to City, County, State ordinances and codes • Support any afterhours building needs and activities as required
• Delivers proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies, promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices
• Ability to use hand tools and power tools applicable to trade
Required Skill:
• Valid driver’s license
• Current Refrigeration Certification
• 2-10 years of related experience
• Knowledge of HVAC installation, troubleshooting, repair and maintenance
• Experienced with chillers and compressed air systems and there control systems.
• Proficient in reading electrical schematics and mechanical drawings
• Maintain detailed and accurate equipment repair records
• Establish and maintain a good working relationship with peers, suppliers, and contractors
• Ability to work after hours as needed
• Good written, verbal, and interpersonal skills


Education/Experience:
• High School or equivalent
• 3 to 5 years with facilities Maintenance of manufacturing process or equivalent
• Large Facilities maintenance and Manufacturing experience preferred

• Hands-on, Self-Starter and able to work with minimal direction
• Strong mechanical/electrical fundamental understanding

• The ability to learn new technology and processes quickly

• Self-motivated, accepts responsibility, positive attitude
• Experience with Maximo CMMS system for maintenance

The range for this position is ​$25.25 hourly rate - $29.63 hourly rate.  Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
