Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

 

Scope of Role

Corning is seeking a Warehouse Production Supervisor to lead all warehouse, packaging, and shipping operations — including inbound and outbound logistics. This role drives day-to-day operational execution, team development, and continuous improvement across supply chain functions in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead daily operations for packaging, inbound/outbound shipping, and warehouse inventory functions; develop and implement strategies to increase material velocity, reduce costs, and optimize customer service
  • Ensure on-time domestic and international shipments in full compliance with government import/export regulations
  • Analyze operational performance data and present findings and improvement recommendations to leadership
  • Partner with operations, engineering, and quality teams to resolve issues and drive supply chain effectiveness
  • Develop and coach department personnel through goal-setting, performance appraisals, and targeted feedback aligned with business and individual growth needs
  • Serve as a functional resource for Manufacturing Execution System (MES) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) platforms in coordination with system subject matter experts

 

Work Location, Hours and Travel Requirements

  • Loction: Winten-Salem, NC
  • 40+ Hours/week (Flexibility required for off shift support as needed)
  • Travel: <5%  domestic travel

Experiences/Education - Required

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
  • 5+ years of experience in supply chain and/or manufacturing operations leadership
  • Proven supervisory or team leadership experience in a supply chain, warehousing, or production manufacturing environment
  • Track record of developing and driving results against department performance metrics
  • Experience managing talent development strategies, including programs to attract, develop, and retain key team members
  • Proficiency in data analysis using common business tools (e.g., SAP, Excel, Power BI)
  • Trained and experienced in workplace safety and health fundamentals

Experiences/Education - Desired

  • Degree in Supply Chain or APICS certification
  • Knowledge of Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems; SAP experience a plus
  • Demonstrated Lean manufacturing capabilities
  • Familiarity with cable products, materials, and manufacturing processes
  • Experience participating in or leading cross-functional process improvement or cost reduction initiatives
  • Experience developing or launching new manufacturing processes or step-change improvements
  • Understanding of operational financial management

The range for this position is $106,400.00 - $146,300.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
