Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

 

Role Purpose

 

We are seeking a Supply Chain Project Manager to lead strategic initiatives that optimize our manufacturing supply chain for fiber, cable and network infrastructure. This role will focus on improving efficiency, reducing costs, and ensuring seamless logistics for raw materials, manufacturing, and distribution of fiber optics and cables. The ideal candidate will combine project manager / industrial engineering expertise with a strong understanding of fiber optic communications supply chains to drive innovation and operational excellence.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Lead and manage supply chain engineering initiatives within fiber optic manufacturing and distribution
  • Optimize processes for procurement, production, and delivery of fiber optic network infrastructure materials
  • Collaborate with vendors, telecom providers, and network operators to enhance supply chain efficiency and reduce lead times
  • Implement Lean, Six Sigma, and automation solutions to streamline operations and minimize costs across the globe
  • Leverage data analytics and AI-driven forecasting to optimize inventory and demand planning for fiber optic components
  • Ensure compliance with telecom industry regulations and international trade policies for fiber optics
  • Collaborate on logistics strategies for global distribution, ensuring reliable delivery of high-precision fiber optic products
  • Drive continuous improvement and innovation in fiber optics supply chain processes
  • Lead cross-functional projects integrating emerging technologies like IoT-enabled tracking, automation, and predictive analytics
  • Special projects as defined by SC leadership

 

Required Education

 

  • Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (Master’s preferred)
  • Proven experience in fiber optic communications supply chains or manufacturing logistics
  • Strong background in process optimization, automation, and industrial engineering principles
  • Expertise in telecom supply chain management, network infrastructure procurement, and fiber optics materials
  • Knowledge of ERP systems, AI-driven demand forecasting, and logistics software
  • Exceptional leadership, collaboration, and strategic thinking skills

 

Desired Experiences 

 

  • Experience with automation and AI-driven solutions for fiber optic supply chains
  • Familiarity with telecom industry standards and network infrastructure deployment logistics
  • Certification in Supply Chain Management, Lean Six Sigma, or Project Management

The range for this position is $104,876.00 - $144,205.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position are dependent on hours worked and may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
