Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

 

Scope of Job: To provide leadership and supervision to shipping, receiving and warehouse functions. Includes developing, implementing and directing activities to meet production goals and metrics.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Lead warehouse organization - shipping, receiving and material storage.
  • Ensure safety of employees equipment and 3rd party providers in our facility. Responsible for safety of warehouse operations.
  • Daily leadership to meet operational schedules and output.
  • Interact with Operations, Planning, Quality and Engineering to develop and meet goals.
  • Maintain warehouse metrics and goals.
  • Achieve weekly shipping plan.
  • Responsible for management of raw material and finished goods inventories. Achieve inventory management metrics.
  • Budgetary responsible for warehousing costs. Work with other organizations to identify and implement cost reduction initiatives, and freight efficiencies.
  • Receivership of warehouse expansion.

 

Education / Experience:

  • Bachelors Degree required (Engineering, Supply Chain or Business preferred )
  • 5+ years in manufacturing / warehouse environment.
  • Warehousing / Shipping / Receiving experience preferred.

 

Required skills:

  • Excellent people, organizational and communication skills
  • Supervisory experience and ability to lead team
  • Experience in a manufacturing or warehousing environment
  • Self -motivated, positive attitude.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of SAP or other MRP system

 

Soft skills: Detail oriented, accurate, organized, flexible

 

Hours / Work Schedule: 8am- 5pm M-F. 40+ hours / week. Additional hours as required, including off hours support.
