Corning’s Display Technologies segment manufactures glass substrates for active matrix liquid crystal displays (“LCDs”) that are used primarily in LCD televisions, notebook computers and flat panel desktop monitors.

Key Responsibilities

  • System Design and Development:
    • Design, develop, and implement automation solutions aligned with business objectives.
    • Create and program control systems, including PC, PLCs, SCADA, and robotics.
    • Develop system schematics, layouts, and technical documentation.
  • Integration and Testing:
    • Integrate automation systems with existing machinery and software platforms.
    • Test and troubleshoot automated processes to ensure optimal performance.
    • Conduct root cause analysis for system failures and implement corrective measures.
  • Process Improvement:
    • Analyze current production processes and identify opportunities for automation.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize workflows and reduce manual tasks.
    • Implement strategies to enhance system efficiency, reliability, and scalability.
  • Maintenance and Support:
    • Monitor automation systems and ensure they operate reliably and efficiently.
    • Perform regular system maintenance and updates to prevent downtime.
    • Provide technical support and training to operators and team members.
  • Compliance and Safety:
    • Ensure automation systems comply with industry standards and regulations.
    • Conduct risk assessments to identify and mitigate safety hazards.
    • Promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement.

Experiences/Education - Required

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Automation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in automation or related roles.

Requirements: Required Skills

  • Proficiency in programming languages (e.g., Python, C++, ladder logic) and control systems (e.g., PLC, SCADA, HMI).
  • Familiarity with robotics, sensors, actuators, and industrial networks (e.g., Ethernet/IP, Modbus).
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and process optimization techniques.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

Experiences/Education - Desired

  • Experience with Industry 4.0 technologies, IoT, and AI integration.
  • Certification in automation tools or platforms (e.g., Siemens, Rockwell Automation).
  • Understanding of electrical schematics and CAD software.
  • Project management experience and ability to lead cross-functional teams.
  • AGV/AMR system programing experience

Working environment

  • Office and manufacturing/industrial environments.
  • May require occasional travel(National/International, 30-40%) to vendor sites or client facilities.
  • Ability to work flexible hours when troubleshooting or implementing critical systems.
