Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.
Role Purpose
The Lead, HR Shared Services is responsible for supporting the delivery of efficient shared services across employee lifecycle events (e.g., onboarding/offboarding), maintaining compliance standards, and assisting with process improvements within HR functions globally. This role will perform these responsibilities individually and support the team in delivering operational priorities.
Key Responsibilities
- Support HR Tasks: Assist in facilitating and coordinating various HR tasks through consistent application of standardized processes (e.g., onboarding workflows)
- Maintain Compliance: Help implement process controls that ensure accuracy while adhering to company policies and regulations
- Manage Employee Data: Prioritize ongoing tasks such as managing employee data updates or responding to inquiries from employees and managers
- Team Support: Provide support to the HR shared services team in delivering operational priorities
- Collaboration: Foster collaboration with global teams supporting HR shared services operations
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Risk Management: Assist in overseeing risk management efforts tied directly to employee-related transactions within shared services workflows
- Escalation Point: Act as a point-of-contact for escalations requiring leadership engagement and ensure corrective/preventative actions are implemented effectively
- Monitor KPIs: Monitor and Report to supervisor key performance indicators related to timely resolution rates and quality metrics.
Required skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to prioritize work, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
- Proficient with Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Experiences/Education - Required
- Bachelors degree, preferred in Human Resources, Business, Organization Development or Labor Relations.
- Advanced English
Experiences/Education - Desired
- At least 1-3 years of HR experience (generalist/specialist) or equivalent
- Master’s degree in related area and/or HR certifications
- Successful track record of performance in Plant HR Specialist or Center Of Excellence (COE) role
- First line supervision experience
- Applied Six Sigma Lean or Kaizen experience
- Successful track record in the deployment of global HR business processes or programs
- Knowledge of employment laws and policies
