What is your role?
As an AI Engineer, you will support the development, implementation, and maintenance of AI-enabled solutions for Corning Optical Communications. This role is ideal for a hands-on builder with strong technical fundamentals, Python experience, and interest in applying AI in real business environments.
You will work with technical teams and business stakeholders to help create AI agents, tools, applications, integrations, and user-friendly solutions that expand AI capabilities across the organization.
Major responsibilities and tasks of the position:
- Develop, test, and support AI-enabled applications, tools, agents, workflows, and automations using Python and related technologies.
- Work with APIs, JSON payloads, models, and LLM-based applications to support AI integrations and business use cases.
- Assist with building user-friendly interfaces and application components that help bring AI tools closer to end users.
Support troubleshooting, debugging, documentation, testing, and deployment activities for AI-enabled solutions.
- Collaborate with senior engineers, technical teams, and business stakeholders to understand requirements and contribute to practical, scalable solutions.
What do you need to have?
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related technical field.
- 1–3 years of relevant experience in software engineering, AI engineering, application development, automation, integration development, or related technical roles.
- Hands-on experience with Python.
- Familiarity with APIs, JSON payloads, application integrations, models, or LLM-enabled applications.
- Exposure to Generative AI, LLMs, chatbots, AI-assisted workflows, or AI tools.
- Strong software development fundamentals, including debugging, testing, documentation, and maintainable coding practices.
- Strong curiosity, coachability, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
- Advanced English communication skills.
